Mendetz come from Barcelona, formed in 2003.
It’s been three years since Stefano Macarrone (guitar/vocals), Jan Martí (keyboards/vocals), Pablo Filomeno (drums) y Oriol Francisco (bass) joint venture started, 4 young guys from Barcelona, they got together with their old electronic bits, a couple of old series Casios and an old Yamaha keyboard. Their sound strives towards a new style of rock, a must dance style of rock full of killer rhythms and influenced by current bands (The Faint, Moving Units, Franz Ferdinand, Jamiroquai, Daft punk) and others from the 80’s (New Order, Human League, Michael Jackson, Prince, Queen). Is what they dare to call Casio-Punk. Here, nothing is pre-recorded or programmed.
In their lyrics they like to talk about sex in the future, dignifying forgotten actors from the 80’s, remember with irony the acid years and of course, to mention the lack of identity of the non-subjects of the 21st century, submerged in grey, in fashion and false communication. Mendetz deposits their hope in old robots and honest Casios to maintain the legacy of the pure feelings and the human. Best spanish unsigned band in 2005. Buenas, tenemos concierto de verano en el mítico Gruta 77 madrileño y estrenamos tres canciones en myspace grabadas en directo en El Juglar el año pasado.

Ambientes extraños, tensos, en los que Burdeos se desenvuelve a la perfección y que evocan lugares a los que sólo la ciencia ficción puede llegar.
