Mesmerico formed in Naples in 2001.The first line-up was made of three players but, after some months, was reduced to two instruments, guitar (Fabrizio) e drums (Luca). This duo will be the ultimate band. It’s difficult to associate them in a single genre.
Their music is born from many and several influences, developed through years of various listenings, live performance they’ve seen and lived experiences.
Mesmerico have a very intense live activity, especially out of their country.
They often share the stage with: CHEVAL DE FRISE, ENFANCE ROUGE, ONE DIMENSIONAL MAN, NO MEANS NO, RAW POWER, DUE PARTI MOLLI TREMOLANTI, IL TEATRO DEGLI ORRORI and (from 2001 to 2008) several times with ZU.
In March 2008, they’ve played with RHYS CHATHAM in the Guitar Trio Tour.
On February 2009 they’re going to issue on Octopus Records their official first album called MAGNETE (available on Cd and LP). That was recorded in two days in Padova at Giulio Favero’s BLOCCO A (Teatro Degli Orrori, Ex-One dimensional Man’ member).
In this record we’ll see a special collaboration with Zu’s Massimo Pupillo on the bass.
Mesmerico will appear on the SYD BARRETT's tribute compilation with the song IT'S NO GOOD TRYING. This record will be available on February 2009 on Octopus Records with other coming bands and special guests.
La band si è formata a Napoli nel 2001. In origine in tre, la formazione attuale prevede solo Chitarra e Batteria. Genere di difficile catalogazione che è frutto di una serie di influenze assorbite da anni di ascolti più disparati, concerti visti e situazioni vissute. Attività live molto intensa specie al di fuori del proprio territorio spesso condividendo il palco con: Cheval de frise, Enfance rouge, One dimensional man, No means no, Raw power, Due parti molli tremolanti, Il teatro degli orrori e (dal 2001 al 2008) numerosi concerti con Zu. Nel Marzo 2008 suonano per Rhys Chatham nel guitar trio tour.
A Febbraio 2009 verrà pubblicato su Octopus records il loro primo album MAGNETE (disponibile in cd e in vinile), registrato in soli due giorni al BLOCCO A di Padova da Giulio Favero (Teatro degli orrori, ex One dimensional man). L’album si avvale in una traccia della partecipazione al basso di Massimo Pupillo degli Zu
Inoltre I MESMERICO saranno presenti col brano IT'S NO GOOD TRYING sulla compilation/tributo a SYD BARRETT che uscira nel febbraio 2009 su Octopus records con bands emergenti e ospiti di rilievo.
Sono stato al Duel sabato scorso e non vi acchiappavo da parecchio( l'ultima volta 2 anni fa...).complimenti davvero siete cresciuti tantissimo e mo spaccat ancor kiu' potent'!!! Bravi
Grande gruppo, anzi, duo: già ai tempi degli Shevil io e Mirko pensavamo foste una tra le pochissime band sul serio VALIDE nel campo alternative regionale...e lo siete , ora, ancora di piu'. Mi piacerebbe risentirvi dal vivo. Non mollate MESMERICO!
