Messiaz are a two-man production team straight outta Los Angeles, California. From rock to hip hop to soul music and beyond, they make it happen. Consisting of famed musicians Frank Meyer and Bruce Duff, Messiaz are unique in that they produce, write and perform and double as a live band for sessions or live. Their residency shows at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood are legendary for blending hip hop sets with rock jams, and being the spot where the alternative meets the underground. They also provide much of the beats for G4tv's Webby Awards winning multi-platform hip hop series Freestyle 101.

Messiaz formed in 2003 after Bruce and Frank decided to take a hiatus from their touring rock bands to focus on their love of production, beats and working with other artists. They lent their ears and experience to many rock acts, but soon started making beats for rappers as well, often mixing hardcore, rugged grooves with live band jams and twisted pop alt-rock. Meyer and Duff are both multi-instrumentalist musicians with diverse backgrounds who produce and co-write the tracks, often adding hook-laden choruses and musical elements to the beats.

On the rap tip, they have worked with everyone from Freddie Foxxx (Gang Starr family), Wu Tang fams Hell-Razah and Killah Priest (Sunz of Man, Black Market Militia, Maccabees), Nas affiliate Johnny Polygon, Freestyle (The Arsonists), Dr. Dre's Chronic 2001 rapper Devin the Dude, notorious death rapper Necro, horrorcore legends Insane Poetry, Lord G of Militia, jazz-flavored rapper-singer Neila, K-Rino of South Park Coalition, Dope-E of The Terrorists (Rap-A Lot), Relentlezz Dre, and many more.

On the rock side they have worked with everyone from Monique Powell from Save Ferris, Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers, punk rawk 'n' rollers The Ladykillers, glamsters Prima Donna, pop-punkers Ze Auto Parts, heavy metal legend Thor the Rock Warrior, rocker Michael Des Barres (Silverhead, Detective), Cherie Currie (Runaways), Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys), and many more.

In 2005, Messiaz released their debut mixtape, Hip Hop Terrorists Vol. 1, which features snippets from their upcoming debut album, exclusives from the likes of Houston's K-Rino and Devin the Dude, Wu Tang affiliates Hell-Razah, Killah Priest, Timbo King, Insane Poetry, Freddie Foxxx, Necro, and more. The followup, Hip Hop Terrorists Vol. 2: Masters of War, was issued in 2006, and the Afroamericana Vol. 3 mixtape hit in 2008. Since then the band has produced rock band Prima Donna's critically acclaimed debut, After Hours (Acetate Records), and upcoming Ladykillers album, and tracks for Johnny Polygon, who you can hear on Nas' "Black Presidents." Additionally, the guys have supplied over 60 beats to G4tv's Freestyle 101 series, and scored the MTV Europe TV show Videogame Theater (iTunes soundtrack and Season 1 DVD coming in early '09).

Frank & Bruce Bio Info: Meyer and Duff play in the band hard rock band Angus Khan, and also played together in Sweet Justice, who perform all over Messiaz projects and whose debut album received an editors choice in a recent issue of Rolling Stone. Meyer previously gained fame with punk rockers the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs, who toured the world and recorded 10 albums (the last two both received 4-stars in Rolling Stone). Meyer is also a writer, whose book On the Road with the Ramones was published lain 2004, and whose work has appeared in Variety, Maxim, Stuff, Launch, and many others. Duff is also a writer/rocker, penning features for Creem.com, Bass Player, LA Weekly and L.A. City Beat, and playing with punkers ADZ, 45 Grave and Jeff Dahl, as well as outlaw biker rock legend Simon Stokes and pop-rockers Smash Fashion. The duo collaborate on the music for the G4tv.com show Freestyle 101, which Frank also produces and directs (www.g4tv.com/freestyle101).
