Dithyrambic and sonorous phrases tend to be used in prologues in order to stress the value of their contents, so we are going to do exactly the opposite, citing just some historical facts that witness the background of the website you have just visited.
Somewhere in the beginning of 1994 a white and black fanzine with an illustrated cover, 80 pages and a tirage of 3000 copies was born. Its goal was an intervention in the still field of the Greek metal publishing and the showing off of some bands and genres that despite the international acceptance have been absent in Greece. There followed another 2 issues under the current form (white and black illustration with a coloured cover) and analogous tirage , until a deal with a publishing house for Metal Invader was accomplished, making the until then fanzine in a monthly coloured magazine that was sold around Greece from September 1996 till 2001, concluding a circle of 60 issues.
From the multiple magazine's activities during the aforementioned 5-year period, there stood out festival that was held in the outside space of the Olympic Stadium (with the presence of Venom for the first time in Greece standing out from the participants), the publishing of a book consisted exclusively by short science fiction stories written by the readers, a charity event with huge attendance from metallers, for the "Smile of the Children" institution, the creation of the Metal Invader Fan Club that had almost 4500 active members with the purpose of exchanging musical views among others, the rare cds that were given as gifts in more than half of the issues, the organisation of an underground festival with the participation of newly formed bands, the numerous parties that were held all around the country with the presence of the contributors and…… because the list becomes dangerously long all the positive and negative things we left behind during our time and that we will be remembered for from those who supported or ignored us.
The third and present status of Metal Invader in an electronic form has a totally different existence, since our web gate have unavoidably broaden our readers beyond the Greek borders, hosting in our company metalheads from every corner of the planet. Moreover, many of the components that were making the monthly published form a routine (because when the love for music becomes work then it is a routine) are missing. Thus, our invader continues its journey freed by any kind of advisability (like the known trade of covers and favourable reviews for advertising repayment on behalf of record companies), with a different air based on the dynamics that is given by the thousands of everyday visits.
There are many plans for the future, but because "nothing is more permanent than the temporary", let's just make do with the few that our metal web corner offers us. Which are these? Let's see…

- Reviews (18 that are presented in the main page are renewed every Saturday, while you can find hundreds more in out data base)

- A MySpace page, that in spite of its young age seems ready enough to become a port of communication among the contributors of this page and its visitors.
- A Forum page, a place where all of our readers can express their opinions about our favourite music's issues, including also a promotional section where all interested bands can promote their work...
