So here is a review of Fairview Street from my humble uneducated point of view. I thought your acting was amazing!! Very convincing. I also really got a feel for the small town by the locations you chose to shoot in. I know there are a lot of indie films in black and white but for this film it just fit!! I don't think it would have been as affective in color. Dont want to this comment to be a spoiler but, I gotta say a few things!! I had two favorite scenes. First of all the scene in the bathroom with Natalie. I loved the way it was filmed so that the viewer can see both faces. I also thought your emotion was crazy raw and the dialogue very realistic. I could really identify with James and could feel him barely holding on to his sanity. I could actually feel the shift from the guilty 'I love you, it's gonna be alright' place he was coming from to the point of shear frustration and eventually deflecting the attention off himself by expressing anger towards Natalie. "Why are you looking at me like that? If you knew what I went through you wouldn't be looking at me like that!!" I just felt like it was a realistic conversation two people in that situation would have. My other favorite scene is with James and his father. WOW!! The emotion you brought to the scene was palpable. Again, I could feel it when James was on the verge of snapping. I thought you did a fantastic job bringing to life the theme of James restraining himself and his emotions to avoid going back to the way he was before. You did it throughout the film in many different ways. Some subtle and some not so subtle!! GREAT JOB!! I do have one question though.
Have you gotten a lung x-ray since you finished filming? Hugs, NJ
