Bio
Mick Gerace (born September 19, 1962 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian music artist with Italian heritage. Renowned for his rich vocal ability and said by many to posses a truly rare gift, Mick Gerace is a smooth-groove pop-music master... ..For many years, Mick Gerace sang well known blues, pop and rock songs while touring with his band throughout Australia. Since, Mick found his way in the music industry gaining respect and admiration from peers and fans alike, in part, as an interpreter of songs made famous by Elvis (no jump suits involved), Dean Martin and others, but moreover as an artist in his own right... ..Having appeared and performed locally with many well-known Australian and international artists such as Glenn Shorrock, Human Nature, Engelbert Humperdinck and John Paul Young, Mick jumped onto the world stage with the likes of Joe Esposito, The TCB Band, James Burton, Glen D. Hardin, Jerry Scheff, Ron Tutt, and ‘The Sweet Inspirations’, played at the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas and opened for the Rolling Stones at The Harbour Fest. in Hong Kong in 2004... ..Loaded with charisma, vocal talent and the uncanny ability to write and pick great songs Mick Gerace is on a mission to create big beautiful sounds to share with the world. “Music is a powerful medium”, says Mick, “it has the ability to connect to an audience like no other because it’s emotive and it can change the way people think”. Not surprisingly, Mick has spent all of 08 and part of 09 working on something special to share..... ..The title of the eagerly anticipated Mick Gerace debut album is Geraceland. It is as much a tribute to the many greats that have recorded music in the Southern States of America, as it is fulfilling a life long dream of making a difference through music... ..Geraceland interprets a story that is rich in sound, raw in emotion. The album was mixed and produced by Groove Quantize, arranged in collaboration with big show producer Charlie Hull and mastered by Jeffery Dinces at Cerberus Audio (NY). Geraceland features songs written by many notable Southern state song writers, and is backed by an ensemble of ace sidemen and women who have played with such superstars as Elvis Presley, Wilson Pickett, Solomon Burke, Esther Phillips, Aretha Franklin, Rick Nelson, Gram Parsons, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dale Hawkins and Elvis Costello... ..“I love the way music speaks to people, but the concept of this album is different from most of the music I hear on the radio today”, muses Mick, “listeners who think they would dig a rockin R & B- with a digital twist- approach to timeless heroes like Percy Mayfield, Junior Parker, Tony Joe White and Elvis, are sure to be blown away with this albums mindset”... -
