Ever since the tender age of five her gift has been to sing, dance, and just to perform. As a child she participated in the church choir, talent shows, and different community events. Denisia is the youngest of all of her siblings, which they all sing and started their own family group called "The Hill Family" and performed in various places. Denisia was often called the "baby" and the "little girl, with a big voice," because of her appearance. But looks were deceiving when she opened her mouth and awed the crowds, time and time again! In her development as a young teen and a singer she gained her writing abilities in the different experiences she has gone through. Denisia says "Everything is an experience for me, and everything I go through whether good or bad has its own purpose. So I take it as I go through, to get through and just write about it!" So that says a lot about her and the style of her music. Music is her life and passion she lives it everyday of her life!
Denisia has put in a lot of hard work and has accomplished many of her short-term goals over the past few years of her journey in the music industry. For her first major performance in 2006, Denisia was asked to perform as the opening act, for Trill Entertainment's National Recording Artist "Lil' Boosie."
In late 2007 Denisia was named, B.E.T.'s Music "Pick of the Week." In that same year, she also had the pleasure of performing live in New York City, at the famous, Ashford & Simpson's "Sugar Bar." Where seated in the audience were singers Freddie Jackson and Tank, who raved about her first performance with a live band!
Spring 2008, Denisia was awarded a National Music Award for, "Best New Female R&B/Pop Artist." Shortly after she continued performing in many festivals, including the Jazz Fest, held in New Orleans, La and other various events in the Tri-City States. She has also opened up for various major artists from the beginning of her career until now!
After traveling with just her, "demo," Denisia felt it was time to take some time out to create a full album for all of her fans who has supported her since the beginning of her career. Soon after, Denisia entered the studio in late 2008 to begin recording her first debut album "The Anticipation of Me." Denisia says, as she giggles, "This album is an unveiling point for me." "Something everyone can enjoy, because all of my many personalities are included!" Her first 60's inspired single, "Toyz, Gamez & Lies" will be a sure pleaser that will get you moving, dancing and singing along!
In closing, this young star in her twenties, has dominated stages from time to time and she is ready to take on this industry, and represent her city! Denisia, has a lot to offer and is truly the next big rising artist from New Orleans, to hit the world through, the media, televisions, magazines and radio! With her unique southern (New Orleans) style, beautiful image, grace, U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E vocals, and determination!!!
