A taste of Mose Allison, flavored by Ray Davies, sprinkled with Roger Daltry, thown-up by Rowlf the dog, served with a healthy side of Nat King Coleslaw and a slice of Jackson Brown for dessert.
Mike Chase is a San Francisco born singer/songwriter. A deep and widely varied passion for music and a love for the turn of a phrase, gives a unique perspective to his artistry.
Performing on piano and guitar , Mike guarantees a sometimes soul-full, sometimes histrionic- but always unforgettable experience. In and out of bands for decades with various local and world-renowned musicians, both living and dead- but never one to drop names- Mike remains unknown but to a very select few (several of which are not his family). Mike currently plays keys in the Sons of Eden, and the Tomorrowes, and was just kicked out of the most recent band he founded; gothic-funk power-trio Epiphanette [check out: www.epiphanette.com]. He has also been known to rock out in CoCo County with the amazing and legendary Garageland Rodeo.
Spectacularly overlooked as a solo performer, Mike has managed to gain little or no notoriety whatsoever. Having experienced the light and darkness of the urban Generation X's quest for purpose, Mike’s songs range from comic to tragic, but always retain the questions, challenges, outrages and hilarity of a soul in search of the truth- or at least a little attention. Mike's boisterious cheers (YEAH!) can be heard at venues all over the bay, especially at Open Mics. Mike Chase has been the featured performer at numerous Open Mics at local venues, including the Freight & Salvage and Hotel Utah. Still a Bay Area resident, he performs wherever a piano- that is reasonably in tune- can be found...or not.
My attempts to create an Open at the Mama Buzz Cafe have failed. The will be no open mic at the Mama Buzz cafe. The "Every Second Sunday" open mic has been double booked for the second month in a row. It is clear I'm not suited to be the host of an open mic. Thank you all for your interest and support. My sincerest apologies to all musicians poets that hoped and even planned for this open mic.
Hey Mike I'll send you some tracks for some possible keyboard contributions in a couple of weeks. Recording date will likely be in late Nov., early Dec. in Oakland near Laney College.
Great to meet ya, looking forward to making music with you

Tom Ammaniano (state assemblyman from San Francisco) just introduced a
bill into the state assembly to tax and regulate marijuana as we do
alcohol -- i.e., it would be legalized, taxed, and regulated. Like
alcohol, sales would be limited to folks over 21, penalties would be in
place for dui, sale to minors, etc. in other words, it sounds like the
right approach. The bill's official number is AB390, and more info will probably be available soon at www. norml. org and www. mpp. org.
If you have a minute, call and/or email your state assembly person and
Senator to encourage them to support the bill. You can look up their
contact info online based on your zip code:
http://www. legislature. ca. gov/port-zipsearch. html.
Feel free to pass this along. The bill is fighting an uphill battle
against a vast legacy of misguided and uninformed policy, and it will
only have a chance of passing if people speak up in favor.
This bill will provide California with one billion dollars of revenue each year (each ounce is taxed $50)
