.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .......... ..Legendary Detroit rap, rock, funk and alternative music producer Mike E. Clark has made a career out of shaping those of the artists with whom he’s enjoyed working time and time again. Among them are The notorious rap duo Insane Clown Posse, rocker/rapper Kid Rock, and Godfather of Funk George Clinton, although Clark has also done production work and/or remixing for punk-rock singer-poet Patti Smith, bluesman R.L. Burnside and Scottish rockers Primal Scream. Since 1992, Clark has done production work at his suburban Detroit Funhouse Studios for the Insane Clown Posse, helping them sell more than 8 million albums, including two platinum and five gold releases. With Clark serving as an honorary third member of the group – in the form of its musical mastermind – ICP has gained seven Billboard Top 50 debuts, including 2007’s No. 20 debut, “The Tempest.” Clark is curently working with the ICP co-writing and producing for the groups upcoming 2009 release and has just been added on to score there upcoming motion picture “Big Money Rustlers” due out in 2009 as well as a full length ICP record to be released in 2010! In in 1988 Clark met Kid Rock, Clark helped produce the demos that would help the young rapper his first major label deal with Jive Records. For that album, 1990’s “Grits Sandwiches For Breakfast,” Clark produced the controversial single “Yo-Da-Lin In The Valley,” the album’s leadoff track and ode to oral sex. Clark went on to do production work on three more Kid Rock albums, including his first No. 1 Billboard album, 2007’s “Rock-N-Roll Jesus,” for Atlantic Records. One of Clark’s first jobs in the business was working as an assistant engineer on “Wild Leaves,” the B-single of Patti Smith’s post-punk anthem “People Have The Power” from her “Dream Of Life” album (Arista). Clark has also handled production duties for a wide range of artists - from dark underground rap acts such as ProZak (Strange) and Twizted (Island) to projects for groundbreaking indie labels such as Sub Pop (Big Chief) and Fat Possum (R.L. Burnside). In addition to having his music appear in the movies “The Great White Hype,” “Good Burger” and “Heavy Metal 2000,” Clark has recently licensed more than 1,500 instrumental track placements to television networks that include MTV, VH1, NBC, Bravo, ABC Family, FOX, Nickelodeon, A&E and The Discovery Channel.
