About MIKE PAGE ...r.i.p. MY NIGGA JAMO WE GONE GRIND!!!
With his raw, relentless voice, powerful lyrical skills and confident stage presences Mike Page demands respect from his peers and listeners throughout the Midwest. Page has a very approachable nature, combined with a great deal of artistic versatility and because of his energy and hustle Mike Page is on his way to taking his hip-hop career to another level.
Hip-Hop artist Michael Djuan Page was born and raised with the help his grandmother Mildred Starks in Elgin, Illinois with his four younger sisters. At the age of 13 Mike started writing rhymes but never really took it serious until watching Jay Z closely, perform live at the United Center in Chicago. Page was so inspired after seeing how Jay-Z took control of the crowd and hearing thousands of peoples repeat his lyrics he started battling against other neighborhood rappers who were twice his age.
With both parents not involved in his life and grandmother keeping him away from the fast street life, Page was focused enough to continue his high school education and attend college in Iowa on a basketball scholarship. There he experienced for the first time recording in a studio. After that first recording session the hoop dreams became history and his life changed. The result was a mix tape that came out in 2003, and the response was overwhelming. Selling over 2,500 mix tapes on the University of Iowa campus and local clubs, Mike became an instant local star. In 2005 Mike Page crew hit the road to promote his first independent album P.A.G.E.M.U.S.I.C. on OTT Records (Out The Trunk). During a talent competition in Minneapolis, Minnesota Mike Page caught the attention of a local concert promoter Isaac Clark CEO of Black Ink Entertainment. Clark was so impressed with Mike Page stage performance and razor shape lyrics he decided to let Page open for his next concert. After working with Clark on several projects, Page and his producers The Cubists, Ten Man and D.Jones decided to move to Minneapolis and pursue there dreams under Black Ink Management.
