Mike Sterling

About me:

An artist. My name is Mike Sterling. I sing and play the guitar for a band called "Meditation for the son". I have been in bands since I was 13 years old. Some cool things I can tell my kids about if I ever have kids is that I got to Jam with the band "Limp Bizkit" when they were auditioning guitarists after Wes had left the band. I was blessed to be in the right place at the right time and to have that brief but uniquely cool experience. I have worked as a recording engineer in recording studios and have chased my dream of playing music and expressing myself as an artist with no regrets to this point. Currently I have a recording studio in the downstairs of my house. I play every style of music. So don't be surprised if stylistically you hear influences from many different genres in the music that I put out. I love to paint with oil paints on to canvas. And to go and see showings of good art. I love a glass of Merlot. I am a very loyal friend. If you have a heart I'll be behind you all the way! I don't care about anything superficial. My goal is to reach out to everyone on the planet that I can reach with music through out the airwaves. All of the music I play is an expression of feelings from what I've experienced. If we ever meet face to face you'll see that I am very soft spoken and have much love in my heart. The best thing I can tell you in terms of speaking the wisdom from what I know is that the world that we live in is not in a good way. The people in positions of power who are ripping us off are driven by greed. For some, their entire existence is controlled by the desire for self gain to the point that they don't even know it. Humanity may not be able to turn it around without looking to something beyond ourselves. I'm not one to judge but I do know that everyone would have to have a heart and be open to a new way of thinking. Instead of looking to solve problems with violence, a desire to co-exist in harmony is a concept that could better resolve the issues that we face and also better ourselves. In some ways we've come a long way but the greed of large corporations is a disease that has put the financial world on the verge of total collapse. We can all start by educating ourselves to understand that the differences of others makes them unique and that is what makes the world beautiful. . . And to be kind to one another, have compassion, and lift one another up instead of tear each other down.
