Miko's Interests
|
| General | Gosh so much to list. I love to be outside and try to in all seasons. I love seeing live music and going out to dance. I like to camp, bike, hang out at AJ's Cafe (I host a Drum Circle there every Sunday night from 7-9) in Ferndale, have discussions, dine out, go to movies occasionally. I am on the left side of the political spectrum and have been known to be active and go to peace rallies. I can also spend the night at home and chill, particularily in the winter in front of my fireplace. In the summer, I like to drive up to the top of the Thumb with my convertible top down. The coast up there is similar to the topography of the Chesapeake Bay and gives me a fix for home. My dog has a lot of Lab in her so she loves to swim. We do a lot of things together, hit the woods, art fairs and just like to stroll around town. One of my offices is in Royal Oak so I have a front row seat to people watching. I have been know to play music on the street for fun (not money) as it keeps me very connected to the art of it. I am part of a Native American (Lakota oriented) sweatlodge (firekeeper) community, go to Jewish cultural events (I lost my dad in late October 2007 and joined Beth Shalom so I can have a place to say Kaddish, Plus I think it important to belong to a shul) and try to do self improvement events and men's work. I also attend political events and try to remain up on all current events. | | Music | String Cheese Incident (I love them and am a national coordinator for a non profit that is at their shows) JERRY GARCIA,Grateful Dead, Phish, moe. About me:
I am a 44 year old man who is deeply spiritual with a nice blend of traditional and alternative beliefs, and well grounded as well. I have a strong passion for life and honesty and integrity are core values for me. Balance is essential. I am community oriented and consider my friends my family. I am from Baltimore but have been here in Michigan for over 17 years. I have been running an active criminal defense practice for several years and I have no qualms doing so, regardless of what my personal beliefs may be on guilt or innocence. I love live music and volunteer for a non profit (www.scijellyfish.org) that travels with jambands. What are jambands-some would call them hippy bands. More jamming than singing. I also have a working relationship with several local bands, providing advice and strategy in getting to the next level. My friends are the folks that put on shows here and on the national level. I play percussion and love to dance to world beat, jazz, funk soul and just good ole rock and roll. I am very passionate about what I believe in, but will not argue my position outside of the courtroom. LOL. I do consider myself very open to the viewpoints of others and will try to educate myself on things I do not know. I can hold my own in a deeply philosophical and the inane. I am veggie with a little bit of fish. I am a non smoker and non drug and alcohol user, though I do not have problem with folks who do so in moderation. W

Who I'd like to meet:
This is touchy. I have not been so good at choosing partners. Maybe with all this life experiences, I should have PhD in what not to look for. LOL I still would like to meet people of a similar ilk. I feel that at my age, I am comfortable with the things that move me, but am not inflexible. My last relationship showed me there was room to bend. I will not make an excuse, however, for my love of live music, drumming, spirituality, my law practice and what not. But as far as people go, I am looking for friends that are not judgmental, are evolved and are into diverse things. Because of my vast interests and background, and my ability to get out there and do new things, sky's the limit as to whom will be met.
