"Mimic of a Mind" is Jonathon Baumann. He does the vocals, the music, the writing, the mastering, and the visual arts.
Influences
My main influence is pain. If I didn't feel pain, I wouldn't feel what I create. Other influences include my brother who has taught me a lot as well as the music site www.dmusic.com. My musical influences range from Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, Dark Lotus, and Blaze to other artists such as KoRn, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Cold, and even some Weezer.
Mimic of a Mind
Eagan, MN’s Mimic of a Mind brings emotional poignancy to the realm of industrial music. Fusing metal, industrial elements and electronic pop into a vibrant rush of musical adrenaline, Mimic of a Mind delivers an audio punch not easily equaled. Listeners find their adrenaline glands moving in symbiosis with Mimic of a Mind’s smart, relevant music.
Vital
Music is absolutely essential, especially for the musician. It’s an escape, an entertainment, a mode of introspection and even a healing medicine. “Let me just put it this way. If I did not have music to create or even listen to, I don’t think I would have a mind. Music is the cure to nearly everything to me. No matter where I go, music will be there.” Music permeates everything and Mimic of a Mind’s music reflects passion and reaches out to many to share a unique vision.
Communication
Music sometimes is the only way to let another person know just exactly what was going through your mind at a specific point in time. Mimic of a Mind is here to deliver a sublime dose of ideas and entertainment by way of music’s emotional power. “My ultimate goal with the music that I create is to make the listener feel exactly what I felt at that exact moment through emotional vocals and intense imagery. The sound I produce and the vocals I deliver are my main ingredients to the original art that I come up with.”
Personal
Besides drawing influences from other great industrial artists, Mimic of a Mind also brings a very human element to its industrial music. Family and friends are a vital part of Mimic of a Mind’s world view, with one person in particular providing inspiration. “My biggest influence I would have to say would be my brother, Patrick. I don’t think I would be where I am today without him.” Industrial music doesn’t have to be cold or inhuman. Mimic of a Mind is proof. Yet it has all the punch of even the darkest varieties of the genre.
Writing
Important rule: Writing never stops. “I am always in the process of writing music. Creating music is my life.” Mimic of a Mind has just completed a new CD “Twilight Rainbow” and this artist is pushing to get the word out. Mimic of a Mind is currently working with A&R Select, the leading independent A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
Review
“Mimic of a Mind brings a rare humanity to industrial and electronic music.” A&R Select
I have a very unique, original, dark sound that can sound like very few bands, if any. But on some songs, people have compared me to Insane Clown Posse. I make mostly industrial rock music so in some cases, you could compare me to Nine Inch Nails as well.
i somewhat liked workin at the theater but idk. im shitty bcuz of the usual infamous girl trouble. i wouldnt let it bother me soo much but the problem has escalated a lot so its worse.
Haha so the new CD is _finally_ done huh? Took ya long enough slut =p Hahaha but glad you finally finished it, cant wait to hear it myself, I remember listening to some of the demos you sent me way back when, you've definitely cleaned up since you started out in the scene. You have a persona and sound that attracts people. Your beats are on. You may want to consider bringing a song to the table that evokes positive feelings. You only need one hit to make it and that's what the ladies run to the store to buy. I am leaving for Florida Monday so take care of yourself. Love, Sarah
