fashion, music (everything from watching live performances to singing in the shower), film, pop culture, karaoke, Interior Design, sewing, crafting and shiny things. Trying to renew an interest in writing again. I'm also a part-time pirate with the N. Minneapolis ship.
In the summer time I like a raft on the water, a light breeze, Guinness near by, random music playing, and plenty of sunshine. I'm sure I'll like bike riding as well....once I get a bike :-)
Music
Best to say that my tastes are eclectic. 80's music is rather special to me. Electro Clash, 'cheesy' 70's and classsic 70's rock. Ultra Lounge (Deano and the boys). Not a blues or Jazz fan, and I only like SOME country (I think the aversion stems from forced viewings of 'Hee Haw' during my formative years...shiver). I also like a lot of Brit Pop, old and new.
My 'ABC's' of fav music include, but is not limited to.... Autumn Leaves/ABC,Beatles/B-52's/Blondie/Bjork,The Cure/the Clash, Depache Mode/Duran Duran/Deano, Erasure, Fischer Spooner, Green Day, Howard Jones, INXS, Janes Addiction, Kraftwerk, Lily Allen/Luscious Jackson, Men At Work/Madonna, No Doubt/Nine Inch Nails, OMD, Pres. of USA/Peaches, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers/REM, Squeeze, Talking Heads/Tom Tom Club, U2, Violent Femmes, White Stripes, X, Yazoo, Zeppelin.
Movies
I'm an Audrey Hepburn fan, and list most of her films amongst my favorites ('Funny Face' is the stand out). Other favorites include, but are not limited to-
'Bell, Book & Candle', 'It Happened One Night', 'Arsenic And Old Lace, 'GWTW', 'Heathers', 'Untitled-Almost Famous', 'Raising Arizona'. I like a lot of comedy (Monty Python, Christopher Guest and Co. ), and some Sci Fi and fantasy ('Blade Runner', 'LOTR' etc). I'm mostly a sucker for older movies. Favorite old school leading men were Carey Grant, Clark Gable and Jimmy Stewart. My more contemporary choices are Richard E. Grant and David Tennant.
There's also the subdivision of favorite directors/writers-
Hitchcock, Kevin Smith, Coen Brothers, David Lynch, Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam....
I studied film in a previous life, so I like a LOT of movies. Just way too many to list here.
I'd be skinned alive or deamed un-friend worthy if I did not add Juno by Miss Diaaaaablo Cody to the list (Not to mention the fact that it truly IS a fine piece o cinema genius)
Television
The United states of Tara (coming soon)
Lost (obsessed at the moment),
Medium,
Brit Sci Fi (Doctor Who and Torchwood),
Scrubs,
Sex and The City,
Kid's In The Hall,
Python,
Get Smart,
Old Sci Fi (Outer Limits, Twilight Zone)
there's more.....too much more >:-P
Books
Tell-All books about old Hollywood is my guiltiest pleasure! I also like Biographies ('Audrey Hepburn -An Elegant Spirit' by Sean Ferrar is emotional and beautiful). Wizard of OZ, and Alice In Wonderland are lifetime favorites in all their manifestations. I also have fond memories of Grimm Fairy Tales (the darker tales, not the Disneyfied versions). Gone With The Wind I've read time and again (refuse to read/see the 'sequal'). The Harry Potter series. Some Anne Rice. Some Stephen King. My new favorite is a book out called 'Candy Girl' - check it out!
I used to read a lot more books....damned internet.
Heroes
Betsey Johnson, Audrey Hepburn and Mary Blaire (a female animator amongst the 'men's club' back in the old days of Disney).

About me: I've decided to update my profile (AGAIN). So here is the 'new NEW and improved Miss Trixi at a glance.
I am a 'recent' divorcee that is now engaged to her ex-bestfriend (nice!).
I grew up in Minnesota then moved to LA where I experienced the L.A. season's of Fire, Flood, Earthquake and Panic. I then moved BACK to the Minne, where I proceded to spend 15 years missing LA (but loving my 'home-town'). During that time, I married an LA boy - Flakey, Foolish, Youthful, and Panicked. After 14 years together, we separated, then divorced. I fell in love with afore mentioned ex-best friend and joined HIM in LA. Now I find myself in LA again, missing the Minne. But this time there's more for me to love here ;-)
I work as a P.A. to a brilliant writer on a brilliant new cable show coming everyones way soon.
I drive a mini cooper that gives my fi-ance a slight rivalry for my affections. I call it "trixi's taxi'.
I'm a karoake nerd, and find great joy in hanging with other vodka sipping karoake nerds when time allows (shout out to the Wesphal Legion Lounge Lizards!).
I love film, music, pop culture and shiny things.
*I think a sense of humor is the most important thing for a person to possess. If you don't have one, then you are defective and must be returned immediately.*
Who I'd like to meet: There are so many out there that I admire, and many others that I think it would just be 'cool' to meet (oh, and the list changes......constantly....so I've now chosen NOT to 'choose').
so when i was in the states i was in a bad way and called the suicide help line and said I'm gonna top myself. he said good, goal setting keeps you positive and focused. which made me laugh and put it off for another day.
I'm sorry to hear about your friends passing. From the looks of it he was a great guy, and you did his memory proud. Other than the sad news, I hope your latest venture out to MN brought about some good news. *hugs*
