Laura O'Reilly is Miz Metro, a quirky ultra creative NY-City girl who grew up in the melting pot of Manhattan and the entertainment business. She graduated from the "The Fame" Performing Arts H.S for acting, and graduated with an award of "Excellence for New Music" from the music department. The award she received for musical theatre/spoken word from the Presidential Scholar National Foundation of the Arts ranked her in the top 5% of teenage singers and actors in the USA. With a natural gift for song writing, at the age of 16 she began to write songs that later went on to be licensed to MTV's MADE. Most recently Miz Metro has been writing songs for ABC's song catalog on her frequent trips to LA.
The live performance of Miz Metro's song "T.V Land" aired internationally on FOX 5's Fearless Music T.V show in June 2008, for which she won the viewers pole for best performance. In the midst of juggling being a New Media/Studio Composition dean's list student at SUNY Purchase, she made time to perform as an official showcasing artist at the 2008 SXSW first ever SOUL showcase. Miz Metro has also performed along side Ladybug Mecca, of the Grammy winning group Digable Planets, at one of Fiona Bloom's popular Mixtape Riot events in NYC. In response to her performance at Mixtape Riot URB magazine said that "Miz Metro's rare voice and style were something never heard before in NYC."
Miz Metro has graced over 60 stages from New York to London, engaging audiences with her quirky stage presence and well crafted songs. It is her "fresh dynamic", as Chuck Taylor from Billboard Magazine puts it, that is making Miz Metro a creative force to be reckoned with. "But it isn't her sense of style that pulls in the audience. Her powerful, controlled voice blends with and rises above the music to bring her message of social change," explains ClubPlanet.com. With her frank lyrics and unconventional soulful pop sound Miz Metro is often compared to Lily Allen, Fiona Apple, Amy Winehouse and Gwen Stefani. Influenced by these artists along with Lauren Hill, Etta James, Billie Holiday, Santogold and many others, she draws influence in music ranging from ragtime to hip hop.

Laura O'Reilly is the unofficial ambassador for the New York City's transit system. The young singer created earrings out of the MetroCard which is used to pay passage for rides on the system. She sported the earrings during a meeting with the female British rapper Lady Sovereign and taking note of the unusual earrings, Sovereign gave Laura the moniker Miz Metro.
Miz Metro is a very busy singer, songwriter and multimedia artist who still makes time for charitable works through the initiative Fighting For Futures. Her goal is to use her popularity to help raise funds to build primary schools in Cambodia for children with limited access to education. The majority of these children spend countless hours selling merchandise in the streets of Cambodia to help support their families.
