I am a 70s rock type of guy. I also enjoy most 60s music. My favorite groups include The Beatles, ABBA (yes, I said that. I even liked them when it wasn't cool. Or - is it still not cool?), Queen, Cat Stevens, The Carpenters (see my comments on ABBA), Frank Zappa (were his songs weird, but great - or what?), Elton John, etc.
Movies
My favorite movies include "Halloween", "Billy Jack", "Walking Tall" (the 1974 original, not The Rock one), "The Exorcist" and anything horror and Hammer horror. Hammer is a British production company that put out many horror movies in the 50s through the 70s. Many of them starred my favorite actor Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
Television
The X Files, Millenium, The Dead Zone and The Avengers. They are all intelligent shows.
Books
"The Stand" is my favorite book - as is anything Stephen King. I also love "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee".
Heroes
My heroes - many real and many, characters - include, St. Francis, Robert F. Kennedy, "Billy Jack" and Buford Pusser from "Walking Tall". The theme is that they stood up for what they believed in against the odds.

I moved to Granger, Indiana in Augst of 2006. That says a lot about me. Why? It is near my beloved University of Notre Dame. Ever since I was a boy, I loved watching Notre Dame football and basketball. Now, I am near the place I loved as a boy.
I love animals and have two Miniature Pinschers named "Cheyenne" and "Emma". Those names are significant."Cheyenne" is a Native American name. I am really into Native American culture. I try to attend powwows whenever possible. "Emma" was named after the character of "Emma Peel" of television's "The Avengers". I had a huge crush on Diane Rigg, who played "Emma Peel", as a boy. Was it her brown eyes? Or - was it the way she kicked butt while wearing tight leather outfits (ha-ha!)?
I also love horror movies and Irish culture.
I was a baseball player. I was a left handed pitcher and played in the minor leagues, professionally, in the 1980s.
I have a degree in sociology, with minors in philosophy and theology.
In August of 2006, I was finally married. I married a woman I had a crush on in high school. She did not, however, know I existed at that time. But, after hooking up due to classmates.com, we quickly fell in love and married.
On May 6, 2004, I was inducted into my high school's Hall of Fame. That is hilarious, considering I was sort of shy in school back in the 1970s.
Who I'd like to meet: If I had the chance, I'd meet the following people:
St. Francis - because he loves animals. He also was born wealthy and gave it all away for his beliefs. This is extremely rare. Maybe, that is why he is a saint; Robert Francis Kennedy - because of the way he became more compassionate as a result of tragedy and suffering in his life. Jesus - to ask if it is all true; Peter Cushing - because I have no doubt he is as kind as he looks.
Thanks for sending me that frightening article about Obama. I knew there was no way I was going to vote for him before, but this more than solidified my feelings. Too bad I really don't see anyone in any party that is worth supporting wholeheartedly.
Thanks Mark. I'm sure you don't know already, but I'm actually a Muslim so I don't celebrate Christmas. But Merry Christmas to you and your family...Hope you guys have a good one!
