MODENA VOX is a rock & roll quintet from Columbus, OH. The band is notable as one of the few "buzz bands" of the regional rock and roll underground with a growing cult following in America and Europe. The band self-released their first recording, the 'Strange Nights' EP and played only their fourth public performance at the SXSW music fest in Austin on the strength of their freshman effort. The sound is at times reminiscent of some of the great bands that have influenced them, (Beatles, Felt, Stone Roses), but the band manages to lay claim to a unique sound unto itself, fusing a dance sensibility with infectious hooks and sing-a-long melodies to create a sound not unlike the epic feel created by many of the great pop rock bands like Oasis, Blur, and The Rolling Stones. The appeal of their songs transcends conventional genre barriers. In 2006 MODENA VOX teamed up with acclaimed producer J.P. Bowersock (The Strokes, Ryan Adams) to record their second (eponymous) EP in Woodstock, New York at Mark Dann Studios. They just finished their debut LP with Eric French at Oath Studios & John Chinn at Workbook Studios in Columbus to initially critical acclaim. The MODENA VOX live performance has stirred a buzz throughout the midwest, east coast, southwest, and southern U.S. Time Out NY Magazine calls MODENA VOX "a must see up and coming band," and the New York Daily News spotlighted MV along with Interpol, Social Distortion and more as one of the five hottest shows in anticipation their last trip to play NYC at The Trash Bar in Williamsburg Brooklyn. MODENA VOX was recently featured in their first national television appearance on Budweiser's True Music with Katie Daryl, which was filmed in Austin, Texas. The band will be touring throughout 2007 in a number of cities including NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Lexington, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Louisville, Detroit, Nashville and more.
