If a band could transport you to future times with a machine powered by seductive, melancholy melodies and psychedelic guitar trails, MODERN TIME MACHINES might just provide the soundtrack.
Layered distortion, delicate string textures, and ambient vocal arrangements are fixtures of MTM’s sound palette. Integrating catchy, comforting rhythms with unfamiliar tones and structures, MODERN TIME MACHINES channel influences such as Brian Wilson, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, and My Bloody Valentine, creating an enveloping sound of their own.
MTM self-released the “Concept Car” E.P. in 2007 and appeared on the “People in Your Neighborhood” compilation in 2008. They are currently working on their first full-length release with producer Josiah Mazzaschi (Light FM, Tigers Can Bite You, The Human Value, Black Kites).
