Jeramiah Ross AKA Module is a Multi-instrumetalist/Producer that has been involved in music since the age of 4, when he began to play Piano. In his early years, Jeramiah performed at Antique fairs around New Zealand, until he discovered synthesizers in his early teens. He went on to become a session musician in his early 20's, performing in many different bands playing a varitey of intruments. As music software progressed, Jeramiah became a solo musician, multi-tracking and creating layered recordings on the computer to mimic band/classical recordings. This process allowed him to explore all sorts of music and styles along with various production techniques. Jeramiah took what he learned in the studio and began to perform live with computers and synthesizers.
ABOUT MODULE
Module in it's pure essence is an audio project. With the creative brief to explore all types of music, and technogly based live performances.
Jeramiah created Module as a solo recording project in 2003. But, the concept quickly evolved into many other areas. During this time he was signed to New Zealand-based record label LOOP Recordings and released his debut double album Remarkable Engines, with the bonus Piano disk, Movement, which sold moderately well and has over time become a New Zealand classic. A track from his album named “What it Seems” was picked up by 'Positively Wellington Tourism' as the theme music for the widely popular ‘Have a love affair with Wellington’ campaign, which received high rotation for over three years on nationwide television and radio. Jeramiah composed more than 15 variations of this theme for Te-papa's main exibitions and the Wearable art awards which also recived high television exposure.
In 2006, Jeramiah joined Fly My Pretties and performed his own acoustic piano compositions "Oh Fair Moonlight" and "Rain" for 16 sell-out shows around New Zealand, cumulating in the release of a CD/DVD which sold over 10,000 copies. In one of the last performances for Fly My Pretties he played "Rain" in the Auckland Town Hall on the three-story high pipe organ.
The same year, he independently released a full-length free ambient album, Dreams for the sleepless on archive.org, which has had over 9,000 downloads. Dreams for the sleepless is in similar style to Brain Eno and other great electronic artists.
Between 2006 and 2009, Module toured New Zealand performing hundreds of shows at major festivals and bars with both his Live Electronic and Classical Music, supporting many popular domestic and international acts.
In 2008, Module Left LOOP recordings and became an independent artist and signed a new publishing deal with Mushroom Publishing. He experimented with online music releases and the creative commons, by releasing a music-based internet project called PATTERN DOT LIFE. The project involved a free live album recorded at a club and made the songs available to the public as remix packs.
In 2009, Module worked with Wellington's Sidhe on an original 15 track soundtrack for the PlayStation 3 game Shatter. In addition to the soundtrack, he designed the in-game sound for the game, which took over a year. Shatter was released on the PlayStation Network on July 23rd, 2009. Shatter the game & Shatter, the Video Game Soundtrack have been receiving worldwide praise scoring in the 90 percent range with major entertainment media outlets including IGN and various game related websites. The soundtrack was released on bandcamp as a free live stream and MP3 digital download on July 24th, 2009, receiving more than 100,000 downloads in the first three weeks, along with being called one of the best arcade styled soundtracks in recent times.
Jeramiah is also working on additional performances and plans to tour again over the next few years, working with 3D artists and motion graphic designers on various live show based concepts.
