Molly Hagen has played bass for a heavy metal band and has sung coloratura soprano arias. She wrote a boy-band song when she was in 5th grade, realized she could sing while belting Mariah Carey songs to torture her brother, and got her first taste of rejection when she auditioned for 9th grade chorus with Steve Miller Band's, "The Joker." But by the time she graduated from college in 2008, Molly moved back to her hometown of Washington, DC feeling comfortable in her role as a singer/songwriter. She has been a prominent face on the area's music scene ever since. Molly has performed at local DC-area venues such as the 930 Club, Rock and Roll Hotel, Jammin' Java, and Iota Club and Cafe. She has toured cities on the east coast and has made frequent stops in New York, playing venues such as the Bitter End and Angels and Kings. Molly plays solo or with a full band, and has shared the stage with many local artists, as well as nationally-known artists such as Martin Sexton and Basia Bulat. She credits her musical influences of Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, and Norah Jones (to name a few…) for spawning her blues-country-pop sound. .. .. .. .. ......
