The greatest musical composers taught her the show factor. The influence of her two older brothers blended the fusion of alternative, punk and soul. Molly Irene grew up with her ears on the records of Folk, Motown, Irish, Country and Musicals. After years acting and recording in Kansas City and St. Louis (hometown) and performing nationally and Internationally she is emerging in the Nashville music scene as an adaptable writer as well.
Molly Irene moved to Nashville, TN in the fall of 2004 to challenge her songwriting and produce many more independent and original albums. However, while performing and building her personal catalog of original material for future production a Celtic album of primarily traditional tunes was beckoning completion. Her travels to Ireland in 2001, her experiences as a competitive Irish dancer and the musical legends she’s worked and performed with in Nashville inspired curiosity with her heritage and folk / world influences. Earned Heart and Linnet Be is an extension of gratitude to so many guiding influences for Molly Irene.
Earned Heart and Linnet Be is her Nashville debut album with 13 Celtic-Americana songs consisting of traditional, contemporary and one pop-roots original (Fat Piggy). The June 2009 release of this album is also celebrated with member’s of Nanci Griffith’s Blue Moon Orchestra: Producer Pat McInerney and Engineer Thomm Jutz. Pat and Thomm brought the finest Nashville session musicians to Thomm’s studio in Mount Juliet, TN. Together new life has been given to classic songs born from Celtic, Appalachian, Quaker, Scottish and Contemporary Folk catalogs.
What follows - another release of originals composed since her relocation to Nashville. Many perceptions and changes for this artist have yet to be discovered by fans. To hear a sample of her current original works go to track 1: Ten Feet Under the Bog:

I had my marketing cap on about a week ago and with all the bad news; the Taliban in Pakistan, the looming Chyrsler bankruptcy, the new flu epidemic, etc; I decided to go with a more optimistic theme for this summer in a bumper sticker (old school). I think its working. There are currently a little more than 50 cars in the Branson area sporting this lil’ beauty. (Yes, I comped them) What do you think?
