Band Bio:
Monacy hails from West Chester, PA, a bustling little college town on the outskirts of musical mecca, Philadelphia. The City of Brotherly Love has spawned a plethora of notable musicians including Patti LaBelle, Pink, G-Love, The Roots, Joan Jett, Will Smith, and Hall and Oats, just to name a few. It's the area's stylistic diversity that has so greatly influenced Monacy's musical soul.
The band incorporates a tasteful blend of funk, rock, R& B, hip-hop, and soul, resulting in a unique and savory sound;one almost impossible to classify. This original recipe was created in 2002 by drummer Nick Ruffini, who recruited guitarist/lead singer Bri, bassist Drew Pritchard, keyboardist James McLaughlin, and lead guitarist Brian Nash to complete the lineup.
Since then, Monacy has been spreading their love up and down the East Coast, performing in venues like the Trocadero and Theater of Living Arts, both in Philly all the way up to Nectar's in Burlington, VT. The band has shared the bill with all-stars such as Phish's Page McConnell, The Greyboy Allstars, Melvin Sparks, The Spam All-Stars, Dave Grippo (from The Trey Anastasio Band) and The Bloodhound Gang's "DJ Q-Ball". Monacy also played a command performance of sorts at the Viva La Bam end-of-season "wrap" party. In addition to supporting such high profile acts, Monacy is making a mark of their own as a premier band on the college and regional scenes. The band is primed and well on their way to break out nationally.
With the help of multi-platinum engineer Rich Gavalis (Bloodhound Gang) the band has completed their sophomore EP appropriately entitled "Intensely Casual Volume 1", a collection of 5 songs that will make you want to get down, get funky, and get loose. Additionally, production is already underway for the Volume 2 follow-up EP scheduled for a December 2007 release. To add even more fuel to the fire, Monacy has teamed up with Los Lonely Boys' marketing and promotions manager, Gigi Greco to help spread Monacy's sound.
Monacy's eclectic style and energetic performances are sure to please any musical taste. Just one listen will leave you wanting more.

"Monacy made The Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia come alive and had their audience dancing on a cloud. Their unique sound of Funk, Rock with some Hip-Hop flavor puts a smile on everyone's face in the room. It was a pleasure seeing Monacy brighten people's lives for a few hours with their heartfelt music. This is what Music should be all about!!!"

"I book over 25 bands a week, 52 weeks a year, and Monacy still has my vote for the best band in the area. With their energetic performances, great song writing and sheer professionalism they are becoming the premier band in the Philadelphia area and beyond."
 Andrew Geigert
 Head Talent Buyer
 Grape Street Philadelphia

Notable Achievements:

Headlined a sold out Grape Street Philadelphia on New Years Eve 2006, drawing over 200 people;more than half the capacity crowd.

Opened for The Greyboy All-Stars at The TLA (now called the Fillmore Philadelphia) in Philadelphia, PA on 12/28/06. On less than a one weeks notice and only 3 days before their NYE performance, the band drew 100 people for the show.

In June of 2005, Monacy shared the stage with Page McConnell of Phish at Nectar's in Burlington, VT.

Monacy's first show in New York City was at the famed Knitting Factory's main stage. The band was recommended by Live Nation/Electric Factory Concerts, who raved about the bands talent and draw.

Monacy has headlined the Trocadero theatre in Philly as well as supported National acts there. Monacy recently performed a SOLD OUT show at the Trocadero, playing for more than 1200 people!

Monacy is currently in the studio recording with multi-platinum artist, DJ Q-Ball of The Bloodhound Gang.

May 8 2008 12:02 AM

yo BK and Nash!!! I need help from you guys. I posted this bulletin earlier. Just read it, please.

Hello Friends, Enemies, and the rest of the people I know,
Where to start? A life or death situation has arisen. A life of someone I love is in our, everyone I know, hands. As you read farther into this message; all I will ask from anyone is to do what they can. Jack Givler has fallen on sickness and hard times. I wouldn't be asking for everyone's help if Jack and I did not need it. Jack's life hangs in the balance depending on your support. I am not asking for anyone to do everything they can, but just what you can do. So often in life things get passed on because they do not effect ones self. I humbly ask for what everyone is capable of accomplishing together. A human life lies in our decision help. So pass on your next trip to the bar, and help someone out by getting drunk and eating beef. Why not? I am planning a beef and beer benefit for Jack to get his hernia surgery. There will be a battle of the bands. Names passed around my inter circle include: Monacy, Lima Bean Riot, Monkey Bus, David Allen Coe, and any other band that wants to compete against the best talent in the underground/ mainstream music industry! Also the world famous DJ Shannon has agreed to spin for free. All I want from everyone who believes that life holds a greater cause than yourself to pass this email along. So do what you can to save a life. I will know the exact date and place in the next 72 hours(hopefully within the month of May). Please forward this to everyone one you know. My email for this benefit is ahelpjack@aol.com or just reply to me at stenson66@yahoo.com. So do what you can nothing more, nothing less.
Keep it easy,
Adam C Stenson
