About me:

UPDATE FEBRUARY 18 2009

A huge victory for the animals! Monash University have confirmed that the live rabbit dissections are not taking place this year. Thank you so much to everyone who sent in objections and took part in protests last year, we could not have achieved this without you.

However, the campaign is not over yet, we are waiting for Monash University to guarantee that they are ending ALL live animal dissections in undergraduate classrooms. Without this guarantee there is nothing to stop the university starting up these experiments again in a few years, or using cats, frogs, mice or other animals in similar experiments. The university has indicated that there are other live animal experiments planned this year. Until we can get a guarantee from Monash that they are putting an end to ALL live animal dissections in the classroom, we are not calling off the campaign.

We have had a verbal agreement from the Vice Chancellor's office that Monash will provide this guarantee, and are just waiting for a copy in writing. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

-----

Monash University conducts completely unecessary live experiments on rabbits as part of undergrad science classes. Untrained students are given scalpels and instructed to cut the throats of drugged, but still living, rabbits.

The majority of medical schools in the United States, including Harvard, Stanford, and Yale, have replaced their use of live animals in physiology classes with humane and effective non-animal teaching methods. There is no reason Monash should be lagging so far behind.

You can help stop Monash University animal abuse. Visit Monash Kills to find out what you can do to stop Monash rabbits from being killed.

Monash uni stop slaughtering the rabbits, you poor excuse for a tertiary institute of education.

PS. La Trobe uni you had better open the doors to your "bioscience" labs and STOP GASSING the roosters.

To the guys at ALV, it appears I was wrong about La Trobe boiling the chickens alive - I have info that they actually GAS (yes, just like the Nazis did during WW2 to human beings) male roosters to death, also for some other useless experiments.
