Things that have moved me to tears: a spring wind blowing through black branches against a moonlit sky, dissonance and resolution, the loss of my dear friend tyler, frogs singing on a pond in west virginia.
Joy? Learning how to make real curry, burying my face in the fragrance of a peony, and riding my bike in the midnight hour.
Music?
The songs I write come from my deepest heart.
I should mention that I am really honored to work with the musicians that collaborate with me for live performance and recording. My current live band includes Todd Parks on upright bass (Jerry Douglas, BBC’s Transatlantic Sessions), Chad Melton on drums (The Mitch Rutman Group), Scott Alexander on guitar (Katie Herzig, Jeremy Lister), and Sheena Swanson on violin (The Hopsing Project). Guest musicians who played on my upcoming release include Al Perkins (pedal steel), Geoff Henderson (bass), Eric Fritsch (guitar) and Christian Howes (strings on Wilhite Drive). All of these people deserve credit for being extremely hard working musicians.

"Moriah Harris is a name that all Americana fans will be hearing very soon, if you haven’t already. All fans of Sarah Siskind, Gillian Welch, Everybodyfields, etc., will find much to like about Moriah Harris. Harris’s songs are on par with the likes of songwriter Sarah Siskind, and her vocals are reminiscent of sultry Norah Jones . . . . expect great things to come from Moriah Harris."

"The first time we heard Moriah Harris and her track The Devil’s Game, we replayed it over and over and over and over and over. Infectious!"
