Andy started mixing drum and bass back in 1999 using the name 'Morph' and soon got himself gigs in and around his home town of Bristol. In 2006 he started to write beats on logic, using his background knowledge of instruments such as the piano, violin, guitar and drums to good effect, and his tunes were soon being played on OTC webcasts for unsigned talent. His first big break came in the summer of 2007 when he linked up with Doug Kubiks for some logic tuition, and three days later his first release was signed to Phunkfiction (Kubiks & Morph - Inflicted).
Following this sudden breakthrough, Andy began to promote some solo material for the first time, and it soon became apparent that he had to change his alias as there had recently been another 'Morph' in the scene. Since using 'Andy Sim' his tunes have been played by the likes of LTJ Bukem, Crissy Criss (BBC 1Xtra), Stunna, Random Movement, Daddy G, Komatic & Peyo, and he has been heavily supported on www.bassdrive.com. He now has tracks signed to Good Looking, Rubik, Fokuz, FF, Keynote, Digital Colours and Looking Good Records.
Many of Andy’s musical releases have been collaborations with artists such as Kubiks, Adam Form, Calculon & Donnie Dubson, and more recently Andy has forged a partnership with Vienna based artist Paul SG. Paul & Andy have now written more than twenty tracks together since spring 2008, and this trend looks set to continue. Between Good Looking, Think Deep Recordings and Paul’s new ‘Jazzsticks’ label, 2010 looks set to see many more of these collaborations hitting the shops!
Throughout 2009, Andy has been busy setting up 'Think Deep Recordings' with friend and business partner Bevan. After three years promoting ‘Breakout’ together, a Bristol based club night with a reputation for booking up and coming artists, the label was the logical next step. As well as using it as a platform to promote his own material, Andy has been signing tracks from talented new artists around the World. As part of the promotion for the new label, Andy and Bevan have been hosting a monthly internet radio show on www.bassdrive.com on the second Sunday of each month from 5-7pm UK time, which regularly entertains over 1300 listeners.

Andy will be spending 2010 living and working in Sydney, but he has vowed to keep writing deep drum and bass music, as well as developing Think Deep Recordings. He is also looking for opportunities to push the Think Deep sound when he is there – for bookings please send a message, or AIM AndySimThinkDeep.
