Morphius is a small, independent record label, distributor, and
manufacturer. And while we are happy to listen to your distribution
submissions, you need to send us a CD that a store would actually sell, not
a CD-R with your name scrawled on it in marker, and definitely not a link to
your myspace page and a couple mp3s. We understand that the music business
is rough. But, if you want to catch the attention of someone at a label or
distributor you have to make a polished effort. So please, send your
submissions to our distro department, but send us the real deal, not some
hastily burned mix. And put some thought into your packaging--include a
one-sheet, artist bio, examples of merchandise you have (like stickers,
posters, etc..) Misspellings and bad grammar are huge turn-offs, so edit
your submission with a fine-tooth comb. Demonstrate that you have a fan
base, that your music will sell because people already want it. We help you
get your music to fans. If you don't have fans willing to pay for your
music, then it won't sell. It's as simple as that.
