Morphologue are: Myriam Stucki (vox), also performing as drum'n'bass MC for several DJs in the past
& Patrik Zeller (keys, accordion, programming), frequently creates sounds for theaters in Berlin, Hamburg, Bonn and Zurich.
Influences
Morphologue is influenced from Brahms, to Ella Fitzgerald, Lamb or Roni Size. The mixture creates their wide-ranging sounds...
Sounds Like
Electronic music made of jazz, classics, pop and drum&bass beats.
NEW ALBUM:
It goes without saying that Morphologue have stayed true to their recipe for success: to combine pop and electronic music. However, as with the catchy name ..Flower Art Pictures.., the band has refined their style with new tones that are less chiseled and haughty. Thus, the new CD sounds more adept and emanates maturity. ..Flower Art Pictures.. also distinguishes itself through concinnity and details that, with each new listening, rediscovered with great pleasure. Extraordinary pop compositions are enriched with elements from classical music in which one can allow oneself to drift along the spherical soundscapes. Songs such as ..Flower Art Pictures.. are distinctly reminiscent of film scores. At times it is a piano that allows the listener to dreamily linger, whereas at other times the strings take care of dramatic or even romantic moments. Cut. And then the beat goes on …
REVIEW:
The two musicians Myriam Stucki and Patrik Zeller released the album ..Midnight Nevertheless.. under the name Morphologue in 2005, which generated a great deal of resonance. The track ..Had a taste of it.. was played almost daily on the radio station Couleur3 in 2006. This catchy tune then also surfaced on the compilation ..Metissages Vol. 1.. by Couleur 3 and is available in Belgium, France, Andorra and Switzerland.
Today, Morphologue..s songs are regulars on the playlists of local Swiss radio stations. Morphologues.. ..first-born.. can then, in many respects, be described as a surprising success. Since their founding in 2004 the band has toured through Switzerland extensively and treated many clubs and concert venues to their spherical sounds. In Zürich, Morphologue managed to obtain the Finale of the Demotape-Clinic and on mx3.ch they play in the top web hit- parades.
With their recipe for success the band has also been capable of conquering the Röstigraben (French vs. Swiss German speaking Switzerland). The participation in the Geneva Electron Festival (then with Roni size at the forefront) is considered by them as a performance highlight. At Les Docks in Lausanne, Morphologue appeared on stage with the internationally acclaimed pop band Hooverphonic. The invitation to the Popkomm 06 also created a sensation when Morphologue appeared as one of the few Swiss musical groups requested to do a showcase. The musician and innovator, Patrik Zeller, has already established his name as a composer for theatrical productions in Hamburg, Berlin and Salzburg.

For the first Nerve release of 2009, we're very proud to present the debut EP from Copenhagen's Jean Doe.
It's drum n bass tinged with detroit techno and deep house, from the glitchy beats of the title track to deep rolling vibes on "Nuance" and "Fibre" before fellow Copenhagen based producer Pyro joins him for the epic and uplifting "Ambitions in A Minor".

Samuel Brunel is an upcoming artist from France who released his debut track on Autist. His new EP "Orpheo" is a peak time techno track that will rock all dancefloors! Samuel is a relatively new name on the minimal scene but certainly a name to watch in the new year…
Trained as a pianist, Samuel Brunel became quickly influenced by repetitive music, from Philip Glass to Steve Reich. He began integrating machines into his compositions, and the evocative power and energy of minimal techno fascinated him. He eventually traded his instruments for a computer, which led to various collaborations with classical musicians and filmmakers…
Everything starts with Samuel’s original approach. The track includes rolling percussions with a bassy drive and a lots of dynamic background action that makes this track a real infectious groove… For the first time, Zhao offers a decidedly techno track with a cyclical & bleep touch that will surprise many! Redj’s remix is a minimal techno track deep & dark to get cold in the back… Finally, Zecapx delivers a mental version with sliced leads, a swing bass line and deconstructed samples.
Available 10th april on Juno Download, Nuloop, Dancetracks, Beatsdigital, DJ Download, Finetunes, Bubblebeat, Musicload, Trackitdown, iTunes...
Supported by Laurent Garnier, Misstress Barbara, John Lord Fonda, Xpansul, Re:Axis, Heron, Yan Hendez, Dualism, Joy Kitikonti, Anderson Noise, Mateo Murphy, Stefano Lotti, Mauro Alpha, Gennaro Mas
