Don Avera as the main member, works both as a solo artist and in joint collaborative projects with other performers. For the next Mortal Engines project there is an open call for collaborators working within the electronic music field, particularly those who have an inclination to combine acoustic/folk/ethnic instruments and vocals into a modern tapestry of sound.

Sounds Like
All of the above and none of the above at the same time.
Started in 1994 in Portland. Contributed material to the Precipitation Compilation CD (1995- Partial Records), the Amphibious Maximus Compilation (1995- Red Phraug Records), and the Storm of Drones 3 CD compilation (1996-Asphodel Records). Spent the next seven years parenting & making home tapes.
The first Mortal Engines Release is a collaboration with the Noisettes (Static Blue, 2004- available through CD BABY). There is a SIGNIFICANT DISCOUNT for those willing to purchase the entire CD as mp3s. CD BABY will also send you photo files of the artwork and song list so you can make your own CD at home. Neat!
I am also on I-tunes: Check it out! Paste link below into your browser.

Pressure Vessel is the second Release: It took a while to put together but, the results are definitely satisfying. The almost 15 minute "Flying Lotus" is the standout on the Disc.
Sugar Skull (a kind of "double EP" that features live tracks and a 26 minute single mix in four parts), is now complete and available! This was made sort of before and during the production of Pressure Vessel. It almost justifies the 3 1/2 year wait between the previous disc releases. Even though the concept sounds disjointed, there is a real cohesiveness between the two "EP's". The live tracks were recorded in April of 2007 at KPSU studios for a live broadcast. Much gratitude and thanks to Ricardo Wang and Austin Rich for making it happen.

Yo Mortal Enginesasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. Please come to our page, give it a listen and let us know if it makes you feel like something catastrophic is gonna happen. If the song upsets you too much we will be holding several s support groups (read: comcerts) in the near future. Check our page for locations, dates and times.
TOYKULT plays British Music Week 2009 & we invite you to download our latest EP featuring tracks from our new album FREE @ 192kbps: http://www.toykult.com
