April 2009… The inspiring spring atmospehere provoked the idea of a new gothic-doom band. Yaroslav Badradinov (keys) shared this idea with his friends from the previous group, where they played for a couple of years – Sergey Yuhno (bass) and Maria Nosyk (vocal). The suggestion was gladly accepted by both and almost at once they set to work on the material Yaroslav had presented to them.<br> But absence of the complete line-up prevented the group from the full-scale activity, so they started up searching for missing members. Some time the band spent playing in the constantly changing cast: guitar players were replacing one another and drummachine was playing instead of a real person until May 2009, when fortune smiled upon them and Daniel Gayvoronsky (drums) joined the group. Ever since rehearsals were being accompanied by the sound of real drums while the position of a guitar player remained vacant.<br> But it can't rain forever and by the end of August Vadim Fesenko completed the line-up by his appearance. Since that time the band has put forth all its efforts and by the early October produced the first demo record under support of the Deviant Studio and in the middle of November did its first concert...<br> By the end of the first year in April 2010 "On the Broken Wings" EP was released on the Internet, it included the first 4 compositions of the project. The official release occurred in January 2011. Within this period the band played more than 10 gigs around Ukraine and Russia among which was the solo performance in Sumy (Ukraine), participated in the "One Step towards" VIII Ukrainian festival (Voznesensk, Ukraine), where the prize for "The Best Arrangement" was awarded to them; became the finalist of the Moscow "Frames Motion Fest – Summer Heat" heavy music festival.<br> At present Mortalium is continuing doing concerts both in their native city and far beyond its borders. The full- length album is being recorded. -
