Move The Crowd Records was set up at the end of 2004 by Kirk Harding, a NZ born music executive (who has previously worked with Supergroove, DLT, Che FU, Savage, Urban Pacifika, Loud Records & SRC Records) that is based in New York with Universal/Motown, and Justin "Juse" Ferguson and Aaron Christie, partners of Auckland, NZ based music studio and publishing company Woodcut Productions. Woodcut has been providing recording services for artists, music composition services and licencing for artists, in film, and TV as well as a wide range of other audio services since 1998.

The formation of Move The Crowd occurred when Juse, traveling the UK and US to records artists for his album Global Casino, met with Kirk and had the opportunity to play demo recordings of some of his and Tyree's work. Kirk was uncharacteristically taken by the talent on show and wanted to be involved.

Things have happened quickly for Move The Crowd. Now established as a credible Hip Hop label in both NZ and Australia, and with strong partnerships with established marketing and distribution partners, they are set to unleash some incredible talent to the Hip Hop market down under.
