"Anjuna superstar Mark Pledger has emerged as a globe trotting star spreading the trance gospel to the far flung corners of the world!"
- The Gallery, London
Mixmag’s “best thing to happen in trance”, Mark Pledger has rocked The Gallery, Passion, Gatecrasher and Gods Kitchen with his DJ sets. He’s played in Europe, South America, Australia and Asia, and topped off a fantastic 2008 with a New Years Eve gig in India.
“…a full-on, energy-exuding club thumper. Bags of melody and a hint of dirty bass distortion culminate in a suitably huge, snare driven payoff…”
“…vocals provide the final polish to another goosebump inducer…”
Snippets of DJ Magazine 5 star reviews of his tracks that could equally describe Mark’s crowd winning DJ style. Ferry Corsten says, “He never fails to amaze me”, while Armin Van Buuren reckons he’s "Amongst the best trance producers and an excellent DJ".
“Mark Pledger delivers one awesome track after another. I challenge any non-trance fan to listen to this and not be converted...”
Is what M8 say about his Anjunabeats Worldwide radio show, and is what can be expected at any of Mark’s unashamedly crowd-pleasing gigs.
Anjunabeats being the label Mark is most associated with, for his string of hits with former Smith & Pledger partner Oliver Smith, and his collaboration with Matt Hardwick and Melinda Gareh for one of 2008’s biggest trance hits, “Fallen Tides”.
Proving himself to be one of the decade’s most consistent trance artists, Mark has spent much of 2009 working on his debut album, which he is due to complete at his new London studio. The album will include what is likely to be Mark’s new single, “Time Stands Still”, again written with “Fallen Tides” vocalist Melinda Gareh.
