The Minneapolis Henrys live in Chicago. It may be tough to spot their undying love for the Windy City judging by their name, but the band says “there’s plenty of love to go around.” As the self-proclaimed “Inclusion Rock” kings of Chicago (a name coined by Inclusion Rockers, The Plastic Constellations), the Henrys want you to feel like you’re part of the gang. So pull up a chair, lean back, pour a shot of whiskey and get to know the Minneapolis Henrys.
It all started with a bang; a couple tours that would end up testing their patience, their might, and their love for one another. As the Henrys embarked on their first two journeys, they knew the trek would not be easy. The first tour ended with three cast and crew members stranded in San Francisco, details of which are still fuzzy to those involved. The second was a battle against hunger and an urgent sense of poverty. Nonetheless, the Henrys did not let these minor tests distract from their goal of unconditional worldwide love for the Henrys. It has not been easy, however. The Henrys learned many lessons along the way, for instance: a crash course in slaying three-headed beasts; a few hands-on lessons in “how not to stop when getting a flat tire on the freeway”; Hitchhiking 101; and most importantly, how to keep the love alive!
The Henrys enjoy bike rides, walks at dusk along Lake Michigan and select portions of the Mississippi River, all kinds of great films and of course great live music! You can find them raising ruckuses in all parts of Chicago, from Southside Studios in Pilsen, to Quennect Four in Humboldt Park, to various Phillip Morris and Awdazcate shindigs all over the dang place, just to name a few.
Fortunately, the Henrys have passed all tests to this day and their patience, might and love for one another remains stronger than ever. Look for their debut full-length, The Way of the Albatross, in the fall from Grape Juice Records.
