Over ten years and ten releases later Mulligan Stu have secured their place in the history of punk rock. While most pop/punk bands have gone the way of the Do-Do, Mulligan Stu evolved to allow themselves to have a longevity that is rare in even the most recognized bands of their genre. With hook-soaked guitars, melodic vocals and clever lyrics Mulligan Stu have stayed true to the time honored tradition of punk rock that was developed by the Ramones, delivered with the pop sensibilities of Elvis Costello.
It has been more than six years since the release of "Do the Kids Wanna Rock?" on Rhetoric Records. Now they bring you their next installment, from the original line up. Once again Mulligan Stu are back at it to produced more sing-along rock anthems about love, lust and growing up that have kept audiences captivated for over a decade. With the incredible drumming of Dan Dumm, the intricate bass-lines of Mike Uranus and the intense guitar playing and vocals of Kevin Mulligan and Billy Paranoid Mulligan Stu’s music can be listened to time and again, with something new always to be discovered.
Mulligan Stu have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great artists over the years, including Jimmy Eat World, The Queers, The Vandals, SNFU, Mr. T Experience, The Donna’s, Teen Idols and many, many more. They have traveled from Coast to Coast spreading their blend of mid-west pop/punk to the masses.
Avid punk fans and pop enthusiasts alike will enjoy the infectious hooks that have become synonymous with the name Mulligan Stu. The “Stu” have acquired acclaim from all over the world. One organization is doing just that. It's 350.ORG, the international CLIMATE CHANGE campaign. Partnering with individuals and groups around the world, 350.ORG is changing the way we look at our changing climate. Already, 350.ORG has impacted environmental legislation in America, inspiring politicians to cut carbon 80% by 2050. On October 24th, 2009, 350 goes worldwide.
In coordination with 350's international day of action, ADITA.ORG releases "C350: MUSIC FOR A MOVEMENT". This compilation consists of a wide variety of artists from around Chicago, the midwest, and beyond. "C350: MUSIC FOR A MOVEMENT" benefits 350.ORG, with promotion of the October 24th day of action, and monetarily with each sale. ADITA.ORG is the digital home of A DAY IN THE AIR, a personal zine written by Bradley Adita. "C350: MUSIC FOR A MOVEMENT" is A Day In The Air #24 and the 4th CD to be released since 2000. "Iowahardcore.com(pilation)" was released in 2003.
