"Reminiscent of early Fightstar & Funeral For A Friend, this quartet show plenty of promise...keep an eye out for this lot!"

"blistering stuff!..."

"...The choruses are big and considered. Reminds me of a band called King's X, an band with tricksy time signatures and harmonies..."

"There's a rich blend of ideas in Munroe Effect's music and a progressive architecture of the songs...fierce attacks from amped guitars and howling vocals with mellow indie rock passages & quirky jazz interludes."

"an impulsive edge to their song writing, full of restrained experimentation, emotive vistas and rythmic/melodic variation..."

"Uncompromised, intricate layers of noise that fit together like a jigsaw..."

"What marks out Munroe Effect amongst their brothers and sisters is their ability to have crunching riffs with twisting melodies, screams working over foundations of solid pop-indie songwriting, with every juxtaposition and twist sounding absolutely seamless...."

"superbly catchy and thunderous tracks..."

"plenty of subtlety and consideration present in this loud-quiet dynamic..."
munroe effect deal in a unique brand of progressive, schizophrenic rock music characterised by passages of relentless epic noise and brooding intimate melody. previously they have been fortunate enough to play in support of the subways, oceansize, reuben, future of the left, fighting with wire, devil sold his soul and kill kenada. right now they are putting the finishing touches to an EP out this autumn with london-based indie label function records and booking a tour to go with it.
