Alex Craker & Thierry van Osselt. Chapter was born after a few musically-fruitful days in 2004, during which soundscapist extraordinaire of Belgian and Swiss extraction TVO and the multi-instrumentalist and serial singer/songwriter Alex pooled their talents and influences to create a smooth vein of folkrock. A first album was composed, arranged and recorded in a few days in 2004 and was released soon thereafter. Chapter - One (Prologue) received glowing reviews and some substantial airplay, delighting audiences with its well-balanced folk, pop and post-rock undertones.
A synthesis of their feelings and musical ability at the time, the album is predominantly acoustic, relishing slow tempos and a genuine warmth.
Following the success of this first album, the two musicians went back into the studio in the summer of 2006 to record the follow up to Chapter - One. Ten songs of pensive music ; quiet and yet synergistically energetic while maintaining a homogeneous aesthetic. On this new record, titled « Two (The Biographer )», Chapter seem to have perfected their art, creating a smooth vein of folkrock with tunes that unfold their magic even after scores of listens.
