In February of 2000 Russ Crossman, Ryan Hall, and Tony Cosgrove formed Decapitator. They eventually changed it to Mutilated, and kept writing songs. With no singer they just wrote the music and lyrics.We did record a demo that had 8 songs, 3 with no vocals. In January of 2001 Justin Emery joined the band and did vocals. In September of 2001 Mutilated played their first show, opening for Mortician and Exhumed. There was a very positive response, a lot of people took a liking to what they were doing. A four song demo was recorded soon after. After the Ohio Death Fest in April of 2002 Mutilated opened for Internal Suffering/Leukorrhea/Beheaded and Saprogenic. That was a crazy show!!! BIll from Forever Underground was at the show and was blown away by what he saw when Mutilated took the stage. Wasting no time he signed Mutilated a short time after that. Mutilated acquired a bass player Adam Meindel to give the band the low end they were missing shortly before they got signed in April of 2002. Off to the studio the guys went to record "Devirginated Genital Pulp" at Studio One in Racine, WI in December of 2002. We continued playing shows up until the release around the midwest area with bands like Gorgasm, Dislimb, Saprogenic, Putrid Pile, Circle Of Dead Children including the Milwaukee Death Fest in August of 2003. Tony left the band after the Milwaukee fest and was followed by Zach Gibson. February of 2004 "Devirginated Genital Pulp" hit store shelves worldwide. With Zach in the fold and one full length CD out, Mutilated was still playing shows and fests, with such bands as Decrypt, Plague Bringer, Gutrot, Sadomasochism, Severed Savior, Spawn Of Possession, Pyaemia, and also played at the Minnesota Death Fest. Some new material was written. After a couple months Zach left and Tony Cosgrove rejoined the band in July 2004. With almost an albums worth of new songs Mutilated are still playing as many shows and fests as they can get on...including Central Illinois Death Fest 2004, Texas Murder Fest 2004,The Southern Slam Fest 2005, and other assorted shows with bands like Putrid Pile, Screaming Afterbirth, Bound and Gagged, and in September of 2005 Mutilated embarked on thier first tour with Solidification and since then have played a handful of shows....and in 2007 traveled overseas to play the NRW Deathfest in Wermelskirchen, Germany. Currently the band is on hiatus... ..this dude tatted Mutilated right behind and below his FACE.. .. ...... .. ....oh, and heres a link to Brian's dumb solo project, he has a dumb CD ready... ........
