AFRICALLS? Is a documentary film, a book and and exhibition
that show the work of five artists and two production centres of
contemporary art of seven African Cities. It shows their interest
and the urban context from which they create their Works.
AFRICALLS? Approaches these artists work from an unusual
perspective, direct and intimate, exploring the key aspects of
their personalities and Creative processes beyond the art
objects they make in Dakar, Douala, Cape Town, Rabat, Luanda,
Nairobi and Maputo.
AFRICALLS? Is an audiovisual journey to today’s art of an urban
África, as cosmopolitan and unknown, as contemporary and global.

Creio que me podes chamar DZzzz, Gavião, Fly, The Night Fly, Saco, Nasty-O, Cucumber Slice, Zura, Zurara, e Dzzzzura que eu reconhecerei o teu chamado! Mas se queres mesmo saber a minha mãe chama-me, sempre seguido de um eu já te avisei, António Nástio da Silva Mosquito!
Nasci em Angola no mês dos iluminados! Sou Caranguejo, e por isso há quem diga que teria potencial para ser um psicólogo nato, ou mesmo professor! Bem eu confesso que decidi ser um criativo vagabundo com preocupações económico-financeiras!
Portugal foi arena onde aprendi parte da tabuada, e que uma tonelada de chumbo e uma tonelada de algodão pesam exactamente a mesma coisa! Queijas, Coimbra, Queijas e em seguida Linhó!
O primeiro poema que musiquei chamava-se “Abortion”. Cantei-o a dois ou três amigos. Eles disseram que estava fixe, eu acreditei e nunca mais parei.

I was born in Angola in the month of the enlightened! I am the Crab and for that reason they say I have the potential of being a born psychologist, or even a teacher! Well, I confess that I’ve decided to be a creative tramp with financial worries! Portugal was the arena where I learned some of the tables, and also learned that a ton of led and a ton of cotton weighs exactly the same! Queijas, Coimbra, Queijas and then Linhó! The first poem I sang was called “Abortion”. I sang it to two or three friends. They said that it was cool, I believed them and I never stopped since then.
