Navaz began as a musical collaboration between Neda Jalali and Eric Tompkins. Eric's love of jazz and Latin music and his interest in world music compliments Neda's beautifully haunting voice. Much of the music of Navaz is rooted in the Sufi poetry of Hafez and Rumi, while some of it has a more contemporary Persian sound fused with Spanish, Brazilian and jazz rhythms. Their music is at times meditative, and at other times rhythmically intense. Navaz will make you want to dance or take you on an exotic journey to faraway places.
Wonderful, wonderful music! Thanks for the add. I'm a big Traveler fan and I see that Ali played with them at Robson Valley. You guys need to come to Phoenix so we all can hear it here too!
