Raised in N.E. Washington D.C. N'digo Rose wasn't, how do you say?, "Ze typical D.C. boi." The youngest child of four, music chose N'digo long before he chose music. "I had music on both sides of my family. My father sings, my mother sings, her father and all of his brother's sang and played instruments. I had no choice in the matter." Inspired to play the piano by his eldest brother, N'digo bloomed late with the instrument at the age of 15. At 16 he began what would be a brief flirtation with formal training at the Sewell Music Conservatory. It was during his attendance at American University that he gained his first REAL understanding of what a band is and should be as well as what it means to perform. The sounds that influence his musical mind cover a wide terraine. We're talking the likes of Stevie Wonder, Sly & the Family Stone, Commissioned, Jimi Hendrix, James Taylor..........you get it. From the proving grounds of D.C.'s U St corridor to opening for artist like Amel Larrieux, N'dambi, & the ROOTS, N'digo Rose's education has been broad and funky. His brand of Funk is not only refreshing but necessary to mend the horrifically damaged lineage of music that so many have blatantly bastardized in the name of the almighty dollar. His sound takes you to a galaxy where music encourages, uplifts, and rocks harder then anything you can imagine. Soul is back. Funk is back. Music is back. The truth is back. Well everybody say N'digo!!
Hey N'digo Rose...all is well. Wow...Congratulations on your "Flight" endeavors. I found the training to be more than a notion...YES! Smiles... Much Love and Light, Rosequartz ~ ~ ~
