| | Movies | Huge fan of motion pictures. Used to stand in line for hours as a kid, waiting to get into the coolest movies of the early 80s.
Funny thing is, I never grew up.
However, I'm pretty picky about what I like and don't like. It seems like there are too few good ideas coming from the mainstream. Likely because investors have locked Hollywood down, and demand something that has been proven to sell. Bring on the endless stream of uninspired sequels. :[
I've become a big fan of international film over the last while.
Movies that deserve mention:
Blade Runner (1982), The Land Girls, Solaris (the original from 1972), Sebrina (the original again, 1954), TRON (1982), The Thirteenth Floor, Alien, The Dark Crystal (1982), The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1919), Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986), Broken Blossoms (1919), Rebel Without a Cause (1955), Buckaroo Banzai (1984), Lost in Translation. | | Television | I came close to doing what Elvis did, and nearly shot the television.
Then I got wise, and unplugged the cable feed. | | Books | Armor, Planiverse, Ender's Game, Orion. | | Heroes | Vangelis, Ridley Scott, Syd Mead, Otis Blackwell, and J.S. Bach. |
