This is what DJ/Host Steve Quirk of "Fusion Flavours" has to say about Blue Soul Groove...
"I have been doing Fusion Flavours for 17 years now… It’s always great to get home grown talent in the UK playing “Smooth Jazz”. Blue Soul Groove are one of the big new discoveries of 2007 for me. They are the real deal."
DJ/Host of NYC "The Groove Boutique" Rafe Gomez on 'The Groove'...
"The Blue Soul Groove flow picks up right where the 90s acid jazz vibe left off. Neil's chops, production, and songcraft are smackin' enough to get lovers of the boom bap into a serious head nod, and it's commercial enough to please the most passionate smooth jazz fan. I absolutely dig what the fellas are doing - it fits in perfectly with the groove expectations of my national listening audience."
From DJ/Host Colin Marshall at "Magic 106.3 Santa Barbara"...
"Neil Warden's Blue Soul Groove brings exactly what the genre needs right now: solid beats, skilled instrumentation, a high production sheen and, most importantly, original, modern compositions deserving of all three."
Who We Are
Blue Soul Groove, is a project conceived by Edinburgh guitarist/writer Neil Warden featuring well known contemporary Scottish jazz musicians. There's a bit of Blues in there a bit of Soul and yes.... Groove as well. We are trying to bring a bit of commerciality to Jazz along with some space for improvisation and above all create a spirit and not get caught up in labels and genres. Turn the lights down a bit and listen to a track or two. We truly believe that there is a space for our music on your iPOD to chill or groove to.
It is hoped that a full CD will be 'in-the-can' Spring 2008 with some name guest US artists.
