New Buffalo is singer / songwriter / producer Sally Seltmann.
In 2007 New Buffalo released her stunning second album ‘Somewhere, anywhere.’ Sally wrote and recorded the songs on a century-old piano, in the studio she set up inside a flower-flanked shed in her own backyard.
'Somewhere, anywhere.' features guest vocals from her husband Darren Seltmann [The Avalanches] and Kellie Sutherland [Architecture in Helsinki]. The album was mixed by Franc Tetaz.
Previous recordings by New Buffalo include her debut EP 'About Last Night'; which was released in Australia [through Modular] and the UK [through Heavenly].
Following this, Sally wrote, arranged and produced her debut New Buffalo album 'The Last Beautiful Day'. The album features performances from Beth Orton, and the Dirty Three's Jim White, who plays drums on three tracks on the album.
New Buffalo has toured in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia, performing her own shows, as well as supporting artists including Cat Power, The Concretes, Broken Social Scene, Bright Eyes, Stars, and Feist.
Sally’s recordings as New Buffalo have featured in both Australian and US television dramas and advertising campaigns including 'Grey's Anatomy', 'One Tree Hill' and 'Tripping Over'.
Sally Seltmann has also written songs for other artists, including the co-write '1234' which she wrote with Feist.
She is currently working on her third album, and is composing music for the Kage theatre production 'Appetite'.
