About me: My name is Beth Newman, and I'm committed to helping you succeed.
Born and raised in the Texas Panhandle, I was blessed to learn at an early age the importance of hard work and persistence. Upon earning a degree in Broadcast Journalism from West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M), I worked as a reporter and producer for several television and radio stations in Amarillo (including KQIZ FM, KBUY FM, and KAMR TV)
Eventually, I felt led to educate, so I went back to WT to get my credentials in that field.
Then I met a wonderful man who lived in Houston.
And, as they say, the rest is history.
I moved to Houston in 1997, married that wonderful man, taught, wrote, and eventually realized that my greatest joy - my passion - is helping people. My mission is to show others that living well doesn't mean having a lot of money, a big house, or all sorts of fancy gadgets. It's not falling into some sort of cookie-cutter way of thinking and doing. It only takes a few little tips and tricks to look, feel, and live one's absolute best!

I am truly blessed with the gift of your friendship. I'm very sorry that I haven't been in touch like I should have lately. With all that has been going on with Winston I have not gotten too many chances to be online. The weeks have really gone by fast. I praise God so much that Winston is improving and is almost back to 100%. Now we’re going through an uncertain future with JJ as he remains in ICU at the animal hospital. Hopefully everything will be fine and back to normal soon. Thank you for understanding and continuing to be my friend.

Hey! I was down in Texas visiting my family and my brother (Matt) for some reason mentioned that you were on his myspace friends and you did image consultanting (is that a word?). So i figured id check it out. When my mom found out, she was devastated because she always thought you were a great teacher, i tried to explain to her that you are techincally still teaching! I watched your videos on youtube and it brought me back to THRS days.
But I have been great. Im still in school, and i graduate in August. I am going for Business management. I have a 4 year old step son who is a handful! I have been married almost two years now. It's crazy. Who would of thought! I live in Wisconsin right now (i am not liking it, its June and todays high is 45), but we are moving back to Texas once i get my degree in August. I am not really to sure what I will be doing for work yet. I am going to try and get a job as a dispatcher at the police department my brother works for.

Remember Katie Mann? She just got married back in Feburary. Amanda Villerial just got engaged. We are all growing up. Kind of scary!

Do you keep in contact with any people from THRS? I occasionally talk to Angela Yaccino on Facebook, and I am still extremely close to Cynthia Lauer (then Ivens). A lot of the old students always talk about having a "reuioun" but not everyone can make it on the same days. Lauren Woodruff (not sure if you know her, I cant remember if you were there the entire time i was or not) went to THRS the other week and said not a single teacher is the same. That is kind of depressing. I really do miss that school. As much as I hate it when i went there, once i went to public school I realized how good of a school THRS was.
