I'm in this band, you see...
I am sure I'm forgetting something important, but I'll get to it later.
Movies
I am an avid movie fan, but so disappointed with today's fare. A few pleasant surprises and old favorites:
waydowntown Napolean Dynamite Shaun of the Dead Until the End of the World The Dark Backward The Man Who Knew Too Little Office Space Barton Fink Sjunde inseglet, Det (The Seventh Seal) Reservoir Dogs The Caveman's Valentine Living in Oblivion Confessions of a Dangerous Mind Down By Law My Blue Heaven Dogma Memento Where's Marlowe?
My go-to movie is Blade Runner - the original, non-unicorn dream version. Always appropriate.
...and so many more... keep an eye out for the film cricket review site, coming soon!
Television
300 channels and NOTHING is on. I think I watch too much "reality": anything Chef Ramsey is yelling on, I am there. If a house is messy, I want to see them clean it up! If those kids are brats, I want to see how Supernanny fixes them. But there are only a few shows I watch religiously. Supernatural is a favorite. Heroes is pissing me off but I am still watching. I have come to love House. I dig cartoons and anime, my favorites being Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Avatar. I love the silliness of Robot Chicken. I also enjoy South Park on a regular basis, and my nightly dose of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and [adult swim]: without those, I would be (more) insane.
For some interesting perspective on what passes for "entertainment" these days, check out H.O.P.E.
Books
I've been reading since I was 3, and there's not much I won't pick up and give a chance (save romance novels, which are the toilet paper of books), but my big love has always been horror. Some of my very favorite books are:
The Thief of Always by Clive Barker
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King
everything else by Stephen King Siddhartha by Herman Hesse Sunglasses After Dark by Nancy A. Collins
most everything by Hunter S. Thompson most everything by Bret Easton Ellis, especially Glamorama and The Rules of Attraction
Again, I am sure I am leaving off vital favorites, but that's a start. We'll get back to this later.

About me:
I wear many hats, sometimes more than one at a time: webmaster, manager of an exotic veterinary clinic, comedy writer, voice artist, independent radio DJ, singer, intermediate guitarist (taking lessons from Aaron Levy. If you want to play guitar or piano see him. And tell him I sent you. REALLY), collage artist, wife, kitty-momma, roleplayer, chef, jewelry designer, and certainly more that I can't think of right offhand.
I love music, movies, cartoons, and pretty much any entertainment that rides the fringes of the mainstream, although by no means does "independent" guarantee "quality".
I love to take pictures; you can find more of my photos here. And here because I ran out of room on the first one.
I have traveled extensively, but find that the further you go from home, the more you realize there is truly no place like it: especially when home is Charleston, SC! So I'm back, living with my husband, James, and our kitties, Toonces, Peek, and Essie the Shed Cat. We are currently writing, producing, and recording the W.O.L.F. Radio show, a forum for underexposed and under-appreciated music. (WEBSITE LAUNCHED 4/4/08!)
Who I'd like to meet: Everyone I want to meet is dead, except Stephen King. So definitely Stephen King. I missed the chance to meet Timothy Leary, who passed away prior to his scheduled appearance at Dragon Con. I missed the chance to meet Hunter S. Thompson, who took his own life. So I had better not miss the chance to have a sit-down with Mr. King before it's too late! Also, Mos Def is awesome, and Christopher Walken is totally the man. And Brendon Small, creative genius!
FYI: Friend requests without a message will be ignored, unless I know you! If you are a band, please direct your friend request to Dick Deadeye, because I am friends with with people, not bands. Mostly.
You are driven and ambitious - totally self-motivated to succeed.
Actively working to achieve what you want, you are skillful in many areas.
You are a natural predator with strong instincts ... and more than a little demanding.
You are creative, energetic, and an extremely powerful force.
An outdoors person, you like animals and relate to them better than people.
You tend to have an explosive personality, but also a good sense of humor.
People sometimes see you as arrogant or a know it all.
You tend to be a bit of a loner, though you hate to be alone.
Souls you are most compatible with: Seeker Soul and Peacemaker Soul
Hooray for James, and you for not pulling a "mommy". I've been trying to communicate w/ you for quite awhile, but have been getting no responses, which is kind of worrisome. There are NO spots visible on my latest CT, yay yay yay! Please write back-e-mail back-call-whatever.
Shane MacGowan was found by a guy named Spiro who got him to the scheduled show sunday night. According to the band's blog, some "fucking asshole idiot" ditched him in an unfamiliar bar in the french Quarter saturday night, and he fell off the face of the earth briefly (been there, done that, got the souvenir plastic Hurricane glass).
Cool cool! I'll mention it, although I believe Meg is going to spend the weekend with her parents, and I will probably Pub Crawl. For some reason she wasn't all that interested in bar hopping at 7 months preggers. Weird.
Have fun. I suppose there's a chance we alter the plans and head down. If we do, I'll let ya know with plenty of warning! (2 hours is plenty of warning, right?)
Looks like Meg actually may be going out of town that weekend, which leaves me most likely going out for the 14th annual Pirate's Pub Crawl. I haven't done that in a few years, so that'll be fun and Meg wasn't really interested in going bar hopping. hmm... that's weird. Haha.
But she's not into Halloween like I am, so that's cool. She wants me to be able to have fun and go out before life gets turned on its ear and we spend 6 months locked in our house away, from everyone, playing with our new toy. Uhh, I mean baby. It's not a toy.
I've gone to a few parties and have 3 more! yay! Ive got the most comfortable costume yet! I'm one of Sylar's victims...so basically I wear my own clothes and just have a stripe of "blood" on my forhead...it's great
what the hell...you get married and forget about your friends? I supposed your gonna blame marital bliss? Well that just bites, missy! Bites the big one! Call me. :)
What's up with you? It seems like you fell off the face of the earth! I hope all is well and that you are just too busy to keep in touch with those of us who are far away, but if that's not the case... I'll keep trying! Love, Hugs, 'n' Smiles...
Hey, you gotta come to the Aquarium this sunday from 1 to 4! Lots of stuff to do for free! It's First Day Charleston! They'll be giving out free school supplies (so what, i know) but theres other stuff too. Tell your friends with kids!
My summer has been time consuming! Classes, classes, classes. No fun for me. Oh well. It's all for the greater good. I really need to call you!!! I have news you're gonna like. :)
