English Biography:
Nichelodeon is a weird alternative to entertainment. It's a music project oblique and visionary, tainted by different kinds of music and arts. It was born in 2007 thanks to Claudio Milano, a songwriter for theatre productions, Francesco Zago and Maurizio Fasoli, electric guitar and piano with the band Yugen and Riccardo Di Paola, an avant/jazz player (synth). The new live cd "Cinemanemico" (2008 Progawards nomination as Best Debut Record) was recorded in the late 2007 after a series of successful live exhibitions. It features tracks written within ten years, played by different ensembles in shows in Italy, Holland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Czech Republic and Russia (Moscow, First Biennale of Contemporary Arts, January 2005) . In the performance "The room plays what I cannot see”, the quartet takes part actively with readings from Pellegrino Artusi's "The science of Cookery and the Art of Eating Well” (1891), videoinstallations by the director Marc Vincent Kalinka and Charles Napier, sculptures by "letestedimary", scenographies and fleeting theatrical creations by Manuela Tadini, referring to the 20th Century Avant/Gard movements. On June 2008, among the winners of the XII "Omaggio a Demetrio Stratos" review, the Nichelodeon were guests, with Albert Hera and Giovanni Cospito, of the "Factory Art" project, dedicated to John Cage's figure and work. On November 2008, Luca Olivieri (synth, programming, glockenspiel), composer for theatre productions and member of the italian art/folk band Yo Yo Mundi join the project.

Biografia (Italiano):
Insana alternativa all'intrattenimento, Nichelodeon è un progetto di musica obliqua e visionaria, aperta alla contaminazione di generi musicali e delle arti. Nasce nel 2007 dall’incontro tra il cantante e autore di musiche per teatro Claudio Milano, Francesco Zago e Maurizio Fasoli, chitarra elettrica e pianoforte già negli Yugen e il jazzista Riccardo Di Paola (collaboratore, tra gli altri, di Carla Bozulich), al synth. Del Novembre 2007 è la registrazione del cd live "Cinemanemico", realizzata come documento ufficiale di una serie di date, frutto della selezione di materiale scritto dai musicisti nell’arco di dieci anni e contenente materiale eseguito, prima ancora della nascita della band e con formazioni diverse, in concerti, performance di teatro, teatro/danza, installazioni, tenuti in Italia e in Europa. Da segnalare inoltre, l'esecuzione di alcuni estratti da “Cinemanemico”, durante lo spettacolo inaugurale della Prima Biennale d'Arte Contemporanea a Mosca (Gennaio 2005). "La stanza suona ciò che non vedo" è il nome della performance musicale che fin qui ha presentato i brani del quartetto, accompagnati da letture tratte da "La scienza in cucina e l’arte di mangiar bene" di Pellegrino Artusi (1891), installazioni video del regista italo-russo Marc Vincent Kalinka (ospite alla Biennale di Venezia 2007), sculture di "letestedimary", scenografie e brindisi a base di assenzio, in un clima irreale che rimanda direttamente alle prime avanguardie del Novecento. Tra i vincitori della XII Rassegna "Omaggio a Demetrio Stratos", i Nichelodeon nel Giugno 2008 hanno contribuito con Albert Hera e Giovanni Cospito, alla realizzazione del progetto Factory Art, dedicato alla figura e all'opera di John Cage. Nell'Ottobre dello stesso anno, viene avviata la collaborazione con Luca Olivieri, musicista attivo nell'ambito delle colonne sonore ed assiduo collaboratore degli Yo Yo Mundi (synth, programming, glockenspiel), con l'attrice Manuela Tadini ed il direttore di fotografia Charles Napier ai video; Cinemanemico viene selezionato dalla giuria dei Progawards tra le prime nomination dell'anno nella categoria 'Best Debut Record'. Attualmente Nichelodeon è laboratorio aperto a musicisti, artisti e performer dell'area dell'improvvisazione radicale, sospeso su un filo sottile, tra delirio e tenerezza.
