Nimencia was created in 2003 as a simple idea of expression through the use of music. The members of Nimencia are Marcos Jimenez (guitar), Moises Jimenez (bass), Roger "Maget" Izaguirre (vocals),and Ricardo Mere (drums). The sound of Nimencia does not fall into any one genre, instead is a combination that reflects the diversity of each of the members musical influences, which include 60's & 70's psychedelics, grunge, metal, punk, progressive, blues, jazz, folk, as well as others.
In July 2007 the band relased its first studio album, Trip to Motherland. Its thirteen tracks contain material in english, spanish, and both. The band believes in using its cultural diversity to connect with more music enthusiasts from different parts of the world.
Following the release of Trip to Motherland the band took its show on a brief tour through the cities of Atlanta, New York, Tampa, and Gainesville where it received very positive feedback and encouragement to keep the show going. While in its hometown of Miami, the band can be seen perfoming in different impotant venues of the scene, iteracting with audiences and fellow musicians, and experimenting in the studio while writing new material.
