Long ago, as little kids, Breandain and Chris were taught to revere John Lennon and Elvis. (Lennon for his choice in bandmates, his charisma and heart-breaking humanity. Elvis for his dancing.) Their drunken and raving father would recite Bob Dylan lyrics to them late into the evening and sometimes into the early morning, asking them for their own interpretations of the artist's words. Unfortunately, the boys were too little to know what their pop meant or how to respond, but still the impression was made that the lyrics must be very meaningful.
A few years later, Breandain and Chris learned how to play guitar and shabbily imitate their musical heroes, and a few years after that the kids started to write songs together, which were all pretty lousy. But it was a start.
Enter the 21st century (oh where did you go better days, simpler times...): Breandain and Chris had gotten better at guitar and songwriting; their little sister Moi had grown into a fierce drumming beastmaster; and their other little sister Siobhan (a.k.a. lil' Liberace) had become a classically trained pianist of moderate reknown on the local recital circuit.
The cosmos and interstellar planets of fate had aligned . The moon was in it's seventh house and Jupiter was doing something with Mars (...basically some magical cosmic tomfoolery). The time had come to unite a la voltron-esque synthesis and form a band, a musical band, of average skill but exceptional heart. In a time of darkness, the weight of all we've done is ever-present; it haunts us. And still, there is a light inextricably bound to and balancing the darkness - the hope that it can all be turned around in a moment: Nine Pound Shadow
