Polo (Vocals & Guitar), been working as a session musician in Japan, started his solo project: Hitori Punk (Alone Punk Band).
He performed more than 200 a year. Through his music activities, he found Yoichi (Bass) and Hiro (Drums), current members of Nirf.
In 2006, by Yoichi's suggestion, they formed a copy band of Nirvana called "Niruvaana" to do tribute live for them.
The performance ended with great excitement.
With this success, they got carried away and decided to form another tribute band "Foofaitaa" for Foo Fighters.
As the last time, their tribute live ended with enthusiastic applause.
In 2007, Nirf was finally formed. None of the members saw this coming. It was just the way it was.
In March, Nirf recorded their 1st album "Live at OASIS" with Tsutomu Okada.
And in Sibuya K2, Nirf's first live was hold. They made huge buzz and left deep impression to underground rock fans.
Sorry for their fans but it turned out that was Nirf's last live in Japan.
After their performance, they decided to make a big step forward for their music career, play in Los Angeles to make bigger buzz from LA to all over the world.
In March 2008, Nirf drew an audience of over 100 in their first gig at legendary nightclub "whisky a go go."
The success at the Wiskey gave Nirf stronger foothold to do their music in USA.
The following month, a casting agent found them (on the street) and put them in the audition for Heineken Premium Light.
And supprisingly they passed the audition and participated in the shooting.
In May, Nirf recorded their 2nd album "Live at Electrical Audio" with Steve Albini at his studio "Electrical Audio" in Chicago.
Finally in August 2008, they released the album on iTunes store
In 2009, drummer Hiro has left the band.
In summer, Nirf will be on Japan tour in this August. The tour name is ''JUMBO FRET''.
In September, their 3rd album ''SUNSHINE MAN'' will be released on iTunes store!!!
