Following the footsteps of the original fest creators and organizers, Floyd Diebel and Jay Truesdale, now a committee of people keep this thing going and going and going...

The Northern California Noise Festival originally grew out of the summer-long Sacramento Experimental Music Series, originally held in 1994.
The festival was officially kicked off in 1995 and was held at the Guild Theater in Sacramento, on November 3rd, and 4th. Performers came from all over the western United States and Canada. Waffles were served free of charge to fest goers for the early Saturday show, thus a waffle brunch tradition was started and continues every year.
With the original designers of NF (Floyd and Jay) moving on to other projects, the fest lay dormant for the years 1998 & 1999. In 2000, Bill Burg reanimated the rotting corpse to great success. Soon after, a small committee of locals involved in noise joined Bill to help keep The Norcal NF occurring every Fall.
In 2005, Lob of Thee Instagon Foundation joined the NF Crew team as booking and stage manager, and official MC..giving even more diversity to the NF event.
2009 will celebrate the 13th NOISEFEST happening in the Sacramento area since 1995. After searching the web and beyond ..we have yet to find ANY other Noise/Experimental festival happening anywhere else in the World that has continued for as long as NorCal NoiseFest has..

So far, the lineup looks great. Pop Culture Rape Victim is one of my favorites. IDX1274, Kawaaitly Please, Xdugef, and Phog Masheen are also some good out of towners, along with the usual quality local acts. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
