nordloef takes his background in punk rock bands and his love for electronic music to create melodic, upbeat pop songs while at the same time squeezing out as much music as possible from the limited hardware of the Game Boy.
nordloef has played at Blip Festival in New York and Scandinavia’s biggest chiptune festival. He's been on a mini tour around the UK together with the British chiptune artist We Are the Future and has played at all kinds of shows ranging from secret clubs in farms to techno parties in forests.
nordloef's live shows are best described as a mixture between a one-man punk show and a sweaty DJ set. But instead of using two turntables, he uses two original Game Boys. nordloef uses the softwares Live mode and rearranges the songs on the spot. The Game Boys outputs are fed through external effects and tweaked live.

Blip Festival 2008: 32 Live Recordings
Official live-performance double-CD compilation, capturing the high-impact energy the Blip Festival 2008's live chipmusic performances. Produced by 2 Player Productions & featuring one track from each of the 2008 festival's 32 musical performers, including Sidabitball, Low-Gain, IAYD, Syphus, Role Model, Mr. Spastic, Starscream, Cow'p, Nullsleep, Lissajou, glomag, Stu, USK, and more. Professionally recorded, mixed, and mastered, and packaged in beautiful gatefold CD packaging designed by minusbaby. The phenomenon of live chipmusic has never before been so pristinely captured.
2008 brings forth a new compilation by INTIKREC from Tokyo, Japan, delivering us again some of the best chipmusic artists together in one piece as a snapshot of the current moment of the scene.
Do you remember that dream you had, where the sound chips from the beloved games consoles of your youth all got together and formed a Weezer tribute band? Yeah? No? OK. That dream is about to come true whether you had it or not.
The songs on this compilation have mostly been created using original videogame hardware running home-brew software, and vary radically in style, from minimal 'one man and his Game Boy' compositions to 8-bit inspired full band performances. Pterodactyl Squad proudly presents the music of Weezer as you have never heard it before.
"Serious play represents a feature of any otaku's activity. Basically you play, but you do it with the greatest dedication, seriousness and interest. We don't want to be the prisoners of the industries that bet on our ability as playful mammals, but we desire to know them and explore their limits. Otaku PLAY explores the universe of players and play of all kinds. How and when you play. What you learn while playing and where do you risk arriving when you remain blocked within the same play."
